Basket Hound | A Soul-Stealing Stranger Visits an Old West Saloon

A stranger offers a saloon worker a bargain with a hidden cost in Scott S. Phillips’ “Basket Hound.” Seventeen-year-old Orel Hamlin enjoys the quiet of his nightly trips outside to empty the spittoons. Then George Malcolm appears behind the Stone House, all persuasive talk and interest in a young man others underestimate. What he carries inside him belongs nowhere near an ordinary frontier town. This Weird West horror story mixes stolen souls, grotesque body horror and a midnight confrontation. Malcolm thinks he has found an easy mark. Orel already has a job.
