And for years I 1:39 kept chasing, but something strange happened along the way. The more I 1:46 pursued what I thought I wanted, the more I became begin to realize that none 1:54 of those things could give me what I was truly searching for. Because what I 2:00 really was looking for wasn't success. I was actually looking for meaning. I wanted to know 2:08 that my life mattered. I wanted to understand why I was here. I wanted to experience a sense 2:16 of peace, love, purpose and connection that didn't depend on what was happening in the 2:26 around me. And most importantly, I wanted to discover who my higher power had created 2:34 me to become. But I couldn't begin to understand any of that until I started healing the emotional 2:42 wounds, fears, and beliefs that have been directing me so much of my life. You see, 2:49 See, I had spent years trying to change my external world, believing that if I could just 2:56 make everything around me better, I would finally feel better inside. 3:02 What I didn't understand was that the life I was searching for, the outside world, 3:08 could only begin to develop when I started to change my inside world. 3:14 world. And that realization quite honestly changed everything. I began to see success 3:22 very differently. I began to understand that abundance wasn't simply about having more. 3:29 It was about becoming more, more peaceful, more grateful, more authentic, more connected 3:38 it to a higher power, and more willing to use the experiences of my life, including the 3:46 painful ones, to make the difference in other people's lives. 3:52 For the first time, I began to understand that my purpose wasn't something I had to 3:58 chase, it was something I needed to become spiritually and emotionally ready to discover. 4:06 And perhaps that's where many of you find yourselves today. 4:13 Living in a world that continually tells us to achieve more, earn more, buy more, and become more successful. 4:22 It's somewhere deep inside. We're beginning to question whether the life we've been chasing is really the life we want to live. 4:32 Maybe we're not confused because we're failing. Maybe we're confused because we're changing. 4:40 Maybe the things that once seemed so important are losing their meaning because we're beginning 4:48 to discover something far more valuable. A life of interabundance. A life guided by love 4:56 instead of fear. A life filled with purpose instead of the constant need for approval. 5:04 A life where success is no longer measured by what we accomplish but by who we're becoming 5:12 and how our lives affect the people around us. And perhaps just perhaps the greatest 5:19 spiritual awakening of all is discovering that the meaning we've been searching for isn't 5:25 found in what the world gives us. It's found in what we can become and what we 5:34 can give the world because when we begin to heal ourselves, discover our purpose 5:40 and live from a place of interabundance, something beautiful starts to 5:46 happen. Our lives begin become about more than just ourselves. We begin to 5:54 understand how our personal transformation 5:57 can contribute to the healing of others. 6:01 And when the journey begins to go from me to we, 6:06 that's when we really know we're on the right path. 6:11 So today, I wanna explore why I spent so many years 6:15 chasing success, what I was really searching for 6:19 and how my spiritual awakening helped me 6:22 begin discovering a life filled with meaning, purpose, 6:28 and inner abundance. 6:30 Because perhaps the greatest success we can ever experience 6:35 isn't becoming everything the world told us we should be. 6:41 Perhaps it's becoming the person our higher power 6:45 has created us to be. 6:48 My name is Joe Mitiga, and this is we. 6:52 Welcome, everybody. Welcome to the Wii podcast. 6:56 It's a great night here in Atlanta, Georgia. 6:58 I'm super excited to be with everybody. 7:00 And I just have to tell you, I'm really excited. 7:05 Typically, this particular episode isn't actually recorded for another day or so. 7:11 So I write my intros. As you can tell, in the beginning, I'm reading. 7:15 I'm reading the intros I created. 7:17 I wrote that intro earlier today, 7:19 And I wasn't really planning to do this podcast the recording of it until tomorrow or the next day 7:25 But I just got real excited. I found a support 7:29 I'm excited to tell you about if you could tell I was kind of rushing through that a little bit and missing the words 7:34 It's because it wasn't his practice this time on the intro and I don't really care. I know you don't really care 7:39 I'm excited because like I've been saying to people the we podcast is an awareness podcast 7:46 We're here to bring awareness about all sorts of different things and I'm in constant search 7:53 For a place I can point people go to this place and get support and I have found 8:00 Such a place. It's a another podcast and it's called dads in recovery 8:06 And I'm gonna explain it why I'm willing of the millions of podcasts out there 8:12 why I feel very comfortable telling the dads especially out there about this 8:19 podcast because you know what we are the generation of change and I'm a dad and 8:25 if you're on this if you're on this podcast and you're a dad and you're in 8:30 challenge and you need some help and you're the person that can't stop taking 8:35 your anger out on people and you're that guy but then you already know 8:38 So hopefully that you need some help. 8:41 But for the rest of us out there, you know, 8:44 podcasts like this, this dad's in recovery, 8:46 I was just listening to it. 8:47 It's so fascinating to hear people just share so genuine. 8:53 And I wanna share about that. 8:54 I'm gonna share with you why I chose this particular one 8:58 and just tell you why I did. 8:59 I'll get to that in a second. 9:01 Today's podcast is about, we're gonna follow in, 9:04 continue on the series that I talked about 9:06 of developing our guidance systems. 9:09 Remember we talked about going from completely unconscious 9:12 to conscious in my last podcast. 9:15 Today's podcast we're gonna go from 9:17 the whole idea of hearing your thoughts, 9:20 the conscious idea of hearing your thoughts 9:23 and writing those thoughts down. 9:25 We're gonna go through the exercises 9:26 and we'll get into the how to, 9:28 how do you go from no thought to thought 9:31 and then glass empty thoughts to glass full thoughts. 9:35 And then after that, in future podcasts, 9:38 after the glass full thoughts, 9:39 we move into being guided by our feelings 9:42 and then guiding by our knowings, 9:45 guided by our discernments, 9:47 and then eventually guided by a power greater than ourselves. 9:51 And those are kind of the themes 9:52 of the up and coming podcast that are gonna be coming up 9:55 and I'm gonna go into depths of all of that. 9:58 I really am, it's an exciting time. 10:00 So welcome everybody literally from around the world. 10:03 I can tell you that the WePodcast is just truly exploding. 10:09 I'm super excited. 10:10 I am just so humbled what we are doing 10:13 because as you know, this isn't anything to do with Joe. 10:17 I'm just a guy. 10:18 I'm literally a guy. 10:20 But because of all of you, you know what? 10:23 The WePodcast is accomplishing some things 10:26 that Apple Podcast and now Spotify really haven't seen. 10:29 I don't know if they'd probably have seen it before, 10:31 but not in a long time. 10:32 The whole keynote that I do called Man in a Microphone is all available to be able to share because of this success, the uniqueness of this success. 10:42 And like I say all the time, we are the generation of change. 10:46 Humanity is waking up. Humanity is healing. 10:49 And I literally am going to tell you a story that I heard on this dad's in recovery. 10:54 I listen to a gentleman's story and it's a literal perfect example of how humanity is so different today than just 30 years ago. 11:03 You know, I've been sober 32 years and I'll share a little bit about my, my experience here in a minute, but it's just different. 11:10 Everything is different and humanity is waking up. 11:12 It truly is. 11:13 And it doesn't matter where you are. 11:15 It doesn't matter around the globe. 11:17 And that's why I'm always sharing and welcoming people from around the globe because the We podcast now is in over 30 countries. 11:23 countries. We're literally ranked in 17 countries. We're number one in the how to category in 11:30 Canada, Norway, United Kingdom, of course the U.S. I say to all of you, how can that 11:37 be? Well, it's how it is because it's my divinity speaking to yours and your divinity 11:43 bringing you here. And the We podcast is not a fluff podcast. If you're on here, 11:50 you are on a spiritual path. That's an absolute fact. You're a spiritual warrior. You wouldn't make it 11:55 through a podcast like this. You couldn't. And I honor you for that. I really, really do. And I 12:01 welcome people around the world because we are all one folks. We are one. Humanity as a consciousness 12:09 is waking up. It's waking up to the feminine side of itself. It truly is. And that's why I share 12:16 in the different countries around the world. It doesn't matter where you are. It doesn't 12:20 matter the color of your skin. It doesn't matter your nationality. It doesn't matter the language 12:23 you speak. It doesn't matter if you're in China, Korea, Oman, or Saudi Arabia. Welcome to the Weed 12:31 podcast. We are all one. And all of us are waking up. Humanity is changing. It truly is. And that 12:38 awakening process, my voice, this isn't the man. You're hearing my higher powers speak through 12:45 me and that's why I say it all the time if I can you can is my ultimate message here and I'm going 12:54 to tell you about two men that when I they are exactly what I'm freaking talking about literally 13:05 they both have families they both have careers they both are busy they both have massive 13:11 responsibilities. And they're both the ones that created this dad's in recovery. And I think to myself, 13:21 first off, do I know them? No, I don't know them at all. I see them on LinkedIn. The one gentleman 13:27 I've talked to barely. Do I know them? No. But do I need to know somebody to feel their spirit? 13:34 No, I don't. Do I need to talk to somebody to identify their higher power divinity behavior 13:40 your patterns? No, I don't just watch. It's the same thing with the woman that 13:45 started divorce post. Why do I keep bringing up this divorce post things? 13:49 Because folks, we are growing. Humanity is growing. And if your partner is not 13:54 growing emotionally, spiritually, like you are, the likelihood of your paths 14:00 staying together is less and less. And in my opinion, the next decade, it's 14:06 to happen more and more. It is. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? No. Is it a sad thing? Yes, 14:13 it is. Is it inevitable for millions of people around the globe? Yes. Why? Because you're out 14:21 growing your partner, literally, out growing your partner. And you know, this particular 14:28 website I came across randomly, the woman popped up on my reel. Yeah, I didn't really know what 14:34 real was until not long ago. And I hear her talking about this divorce post thing. And I'm like, 14:40 that's fantastic, what I would have done to have it. And now I tried to reach out to them and, 14:46 you know, I don't know what the structure is that that company typically, you know, when you write 14:50 an email, I think I haven't got a reply yet. But I think you probably talking about AI person 14:55 or I know it's support for sure. So I did a little bit of background on this particular 15:00 person. And did I know it at a time? No, after I did just five minutes of background. 15:07 Wealthy, travels the globe, super successful, done it before. No sooner needs a 15:13 new business than a man on the freaking moon. So why is she doing it? 15:18 Passion. It's her divinity, period. And when I come across people that have long 15:26 Long term support, I'm gonna share it with you, my friends. 15:31 I am because I'm an awareness podcast. 15:34 I'm the guy gonna get in your face. 15:36 I'm the guy that's gonna ask you questions. 15:38 I'm the guy that's gonna tell you about things. 15:40 I'm gonna do it here in a minute. 15:42 I'm not long-term support. 15:44 That's not my role. 15:47 Dad's in recovery listening to that ongoing, that support. 15:52 If you're going through a divorce, 15:54 go to this divorce post website 15:56 They've got an AI thing that you it's a it's an app that you can download and really get you know everything 16:04 Organized do I know a lot about it? No 16:07 Do I know the formation came from a human? 16:11 I've never spoken to never met and really don't even know what they look like 16:15 But I can tell by the behavior 16:18 I can feel that it comes from their divinity and anything created in divinity folks. It's trustworthy 16:24 the period. And the service is free and ongoing more and more depths of service. 16:32 I'm sure there's a fee somewhere. I don't know. It's free. Go download it and 16:36 tell them the WePodcast sent you, by the way. It's kind of funny. 16:39 Anyways, that's kind of a different topic. So why dads in recovery? 16:45 Like, what is it? Why did I literally have to share it today? 16:49 I'm in the middle of my sacred silence. I've told people this. 16:52 And if you're new to we podcast welcome to bring everybody up to speed 16:56 I have been asking the listeners here at the we podcast to start a five to ten minute 17:04 Sacred silence and if you notice it's been on for a while folks. You notice I'm going from five to ten minutes 17:10 And what does that mean that means sit in silence? What does silence mean? It means no outside stimulus 17:17 No radio. No kids. No music. No nothing you sit with you 17:22 no scrolling. You sit with you, observe your thoughts, and then listen for a quieter voice. 17:30 And that quieter voice is your higher power. And I share this. I was guided back into sacred 17:35 silence a couple of months ago, and I resisted. I very rarely resist ever anymore after 30 years. 17:43 And my path, I was in a darkness of solitude for seven years back in the 90s when I got sober, 17:51 and I'm going to tell that story a little bit. 17:53 And I was thinking that my higher power 17:55 wanted me to go back into solitude. 17:57 And I was like, I can't, I've got kids, 17:59 I've got a business, I've got a body. 18:00 It wasn't solitude, it was simply silence. 18:02 In other words, Joe, take your headphones off. 18:04 So I've been doing that just about every, 18:06 more than every day, five or six hours. 18:09 And I work puzzles. 18:10 So sacred silence doesn't mean 18:12 you have to sit and no motion. 18:13 It means sit and no sound. 18:17 I work puzzles. 18:18 I'm probably about 9,000 pieces into a 40,000 piece puzzle. 18:23 I've got this massive Disney, 10 scenes of Disney, 18:28 10, 4,000 piece puzzles. 18:30 I started with Bambi, 3,000 pieces into Beauty and the Beast, 18:35 which I'm excited about. 18:37 It's beautiful, having a lot of fun. 18:38 And at my, which ties me into Dad's in recovery. 18:43 So every once in a while, I'll look at my phone 18:46 and I'll see a post from my LinkedIn. And if you haven't seen my LinkedIn, 18:50 visit me, follow me, please, all over social media. And I get this, 18:54 I see this post of this gentleman named Cliff, Cliff McDonald. And Cliff is with this, 19:01 Cliff is with, he's some executive, I don't know what he really does. 19:06 And he's some executive with a big online support company called recovery.com. 19:12 and I typically don't mention, nothing to do with recovery. 19:16 I don't typically mention organizations 19:19 that don't get permission from, but Cliff works there. 19:21 So that's how I know the guy's got a full-time fricking job 19:24 in recovery, like literally, that's what he does for a living. 19:28 And so I follow him and he follows me 19:30 and you know, we talked a little bit years ago 19:33 because of sobriety, I see this post. 19:36 So I like, well, it's cool, he shares his post. 19:38 and then I look at the second post 19:41 and he talks about this thing, 19:43 dad's in recovery and I'm thinking, 19:46 what the heck? 19:47 Here's a guy who spends his entire working life 19:51 working in recovery, but it's not enough. 19:55 He's got to also do his own podcast. 19:59 And I so get that. 20:01 I so get that. 20:03 That's exactly what I'm telling each of you. 20:06 Have I spoken to either one of these men? 20:08 I don't know this Brandon gentleman at all. 20:11 Last name is Purcell, don't know him. 20:14 I just reached out to him on LinkedIn today. 20:17 I don't know either one of them, but what do I know? 20:21 They're full-time busy, full-time jobs, successful men, 20:25 families, careers, kids, the whole thing, 20:28 and they put some energy into, 20:31 to I guarantee you a higher power, higher purpose event 20:36 called Dads in Recovery. 20:38 And folks, I can guarantee you if I had them on this show, 20:43 they would say to me, Joe, I do it because it feels good. 20:48 I do it because it brings value to my life. 20:51 I do it because I just feel like I'm supposed to. 20:56 I believe them 100%. 20:59 And I asked permission, I reached out to Mr. Cliff. 21:03 I said, do you mind if I share your podcast 21:06 on this podcast, on the We Podcast, Dad's in Recovery. 21:10 He said, yes, thank you, sir. 21:12 I appreciate your support. 21:14 So you're gonna hear about it. 21:16 It's gonna be just like I've shared this idea 21:18 of divorce post, you're gonna hear me talk 21:20 about Dad's in Recovery, that podcast. 21:23 Now, probably forever, knowing me, 21:25 but I'm gonna tell him, 21:26 I'm going to make sure half a million people hear about that podcast. Why? Because it's higher 21:33 purpose driven. And do I know if anyone's going to go listen? No. But I know there's plenty of dads 21:41 out there listening as we speak. Plenty of moms right now listening as to this right now who knows 21:47 their husband needs to listen to that. And I'm going to make it aware. I'm going to make you 21:52 aware to it. And that's all part of, I'm gaining more and more places where I can point you 22:02 that I believe I know for a spiritual fact are guided by a higher power. And when anything's 22:10 guided by the higher power, it's good. It's just a beautiful experience it is. And this 22:15 particular group, I know it is because the last thing in the world these men need 22:21 to be doing after their full-time jobs and everything I just mentioned is a new thing 22:26 is an additional thing. 22:27 So why do they do it spiritually drawn to it? 22:31 I say that because on every episode I say to people all of you can do the same thing 22:40 today start your act action of some type of higher purpose and how do you know if you're 22:48 doing a higher purpose, it's about serving someone else. 22:51 If you happen to be one of our listeners in Vietnam, 22:54 and if you're listening to a podcast, 22:58 you have greater needs, you have grander personal resources, 23:03 then maybe other people in your community, 23:06 maybe other people in your village. 23:08 And so, like I said, on one of my other podcasts, 23:11 oh, well, you're buying shoes for your kids for school, 23:14 buy shoes for somebody else. 23:16 Well, you might be somebody in China. 23:18 You might be somebody in Saudi Arabia. 23:21 You know, wherever you are, 23:22 when you're buying things for your kids, 23:25 buy something for another kid. 23:27 That's all part of purpose, folks. 23:29 That's all part of giving back. 23:30 That's all part of the living of purpose. 23:34 My definition of purpose, 23:35 we're gonna talk about more and more 23:38 throughout this particular episode. 23:40 But literally, it's one of those things 23:43 as we grow and become a grander us, a grander you? 23:49 As far as I'm concerned, that's you living your purpose. 23:53 Purpose is about asking and answering the question, 23:57 why was I born? 24:00 Well, the why you were born is to live and grow 24:04 and shift and heal, expand and live 24:08 as the grandest you possible. 24:11 That's your purpose. 24:14 Now how you live your purpose then takes action step. 24:18 Like Cliff and Brandon, they're living a higher purpose. 24:23 They're acting on their higher purpose 24:25 by doing this podcast called Dads in Recovery. 24:29 How do I know? 24:30 Because they both have full-time jobs. 24:32 I went down through the list. 24:33 I'm not gonna repeat myself. 24:34 So I don't know what's your hire. 24:36 I don't know how you need to live it. 24:39 But if you're here on this podcast, 24:41 you're already in some type of recovery. 24:44 You've already done spiritual growth. 24:46 You've already done some emotional healing. 24:49 You have. 24:50 You are already a spiritual warrior right now. 24:53 You couldn't make it 25 minutes into one of my podcasts 24:57 and not be that already. 24:59 So the question is, are you living it now? 25:03 and I want you to keep identifying yourself. 25:09 When was your first conscious thought? 25:11 Mine was back in the early 1990s. 25:14 When was yours? 25:15 And why do I say that? 25:17 Because when you really think about 25:19 when your first conscious thought was, 25:21 that when you go from unconscious to conscious, 25:24 that's the spot, that's the place 25:27 where your spiritual path started right there. 25:30 Your higher purpose started from going from unconscious 25:35 to hearing your own thoughts. 25:36 That's when your purpose of living as the highest you possible 25:41 started right there. 25:43 So how many years have you done that? 25:45 How many? 25:47 And why do I ask the question? 25:48 For me, for anybody else? 25:50 No, it's for you. 25:52 Why? 25:53 Because when you think back and you say, 25:54 hm, dang it, I had my first conscious thoughts 25:58 10 years before I went to an AA meeting, 26:01 well, your spiritual path started, 26:03 10 years before you went to an AA meeting. 26:05 How do I know? 26:06 Because that's what spiritual path is. 26:09 That's what enlightenment is. 26:12 Enlightenment, bringing light to the dark. 26:15 Unconscious people are living in a darkness 26:17 they don't even know. 26:19 And I'm not talking about a darkness 26:20 of their external world. 26:21 Their external worlds are fine, most of them. 26:23 I'm talking about there's no awareness inside. 26:27 And it's when you bring awareness inside, 26:30 the first thing you become aware of is your thoughts. 26:33 Now we're gonna talk about those thoughts here in a minute. 26:36 But so when was your first conscious thought? 26:40 And why do I want people to do that? 26:42 Why do I want you to write that down? 26:43 Why do I want you to know? 26:44 Because the more you start identifying yourself 26:48 as somebody who's been on a spiritual path 26:51 for three years, you start seeing yourself differently. 26:55 And as you start seeing yourself as someone living on a path for three years, 27:00 you start seeing yourself as a spiritual warrior, 27:02 you start seeing you as a spiritual warrior on a spiritual path. 27:07 Your self-esteem goes up. 27:09 Higher self-esteem gives you the availability to live a grander you. 27:14 As you feel the growth you've gone through, 27:17 maybe you started your emotional growth path eight years ago. 27:21 And the things that used to drive you nuts eight years ago, 27:23 don't drive you nuts today. That emotional growth is where personal value comes in, where self-worth, 27:32 how we feel about ourselves, that's how it grows inside when we identify our growth. 27:40 You know, I can tell you, I went from a pure self-hate non-God guy to somebody who lives a 27:47 very cool life, very connected, a lot of self-love, 27:51 and a true God guide these days, like literally. 27:55 Talk about it all the time. 27:56 And I want you to be aware of it in your own world 28:01 because the more you see it in you, a steam goes higher. 28:05 The more you feel it in you, self-worth goes higher. 28:09 And as those two things grow, 28:11 your capacity to live as a grander you grows. 28:15 And that's the power of it. 28:16 that's what I want. Now, does that mean you're going to make more money? No. Does that mean 28:21 you're not going to have crap in your life? No. Does that mean you might not get fired tomorrow? 28:25 No. Does that mean you hate your job? Maybe. Why? What did I just say? Self-esteem, self-worth, 28:33 how you see yourself inside, how you feel about yourself inside. And then I just mentioned 28:39 and eight external behaviors, eight external things. 28:42 They're different, folks. 28:45 They're different, and they're different. 28:47 And that's where this whole idea of chasing success, 28:53 the belief system, the delusional ridiculousness 28:57 of a belief system that says unconsciously, 29:02 if my external world has more money, has more success, 29:06 has more rewards, has the perfect wife, blah, blah, blah. 29:10 Then I'll internally feel better. 29:12 It's a false it. 29:13 It's just false. 29:15 Now, I'll tell you, life is a heck of a lot easier 29:19 when you got plenty of money and someone loves you 29:21 and you live where you want. 29:22 Yes, but that does not create internal abundance at all. 29:26 Zero, nada, nothing. 29:28 It doesn't. 29:28 Internal abundance comes from awareness and awakening 29:33 and then living it. 29:34 And these men are living their higher purpose. 29:38 And that's why I'm recommending it, dads in recovery. 29:43 You know, I asked the question, I get to ask this question. 29:49 When was the last time, by the way, 29:51 you went 30 days without drinking? 29:53 I'm gonna ask that a lot more 29:56 because you know what, 30:00 if you're drinking all the time, 30:02 If you're drinking all the time right now, or drugging all the time right now, or some 30:07 type of substance that is slowing your world, numbing your world in any way, shape or form, 30:13 then you're missing out. 30:15 The bottom line is, you're missing out on the grandness called you. 30:23 How do I know that? 30:24 Because what is a higher power? 30:28 What is, if you had one word to put on a higher power 30:33 or divinity or oneness or Jesus or Christ consciousness, 30:38 if you had one word to put on it, 30:40 what would the word be? 30:41 It would be love. 30:43 Well, where is love in your heart? 30:45 How do you experience love through your feelings? 30:48 What happens when you drink? 30:51 Oh, that's right. 30:52 We numb our feelings. 30:54 But if that doesn't matter to you, 30:55 I don't really drink that much. 30:56 I only smoke a marijuana. 30:57 because it's legal now, Joe, so I can do it. 31:01 Oh, okay. 31:02 So when you smoke marijuana, what is it doing? 31:07 It's numbing you. 31:09 Numbing you, period, it is. 31:12 And that's why I ask. 31:14 And you know what? 31:15 I get to. 31:16 Why do I get to? 31:17 Because I haven't drank a drug in 32 years. 31:20 Now, I don't, you know, 31:22 I am today's generation of an old timer, truly. 31:26 I mean, I'm not kidding. 31:27 I got sober before the internet even existed, literally. 31:31 And I think about, I'm gonna tell a cool story 31:34 because I listened to a gentleman here. 31:36 And let me go back. 31:37 Why do I keep mentioning that? 31:41 And why will I keep mentioning it periodically 31:43 throughout my episodes? 31:44 You know why, folks? 31:45 Because I'm the person that loves you enough to ask. 31:51 And you know what? 31:52 If you don't like being asked, tough. 31:54 it's okay to be mad at Mr. Joe. It is okay to be really angry at me. And fellas, 32:00 take your anger out on Joe. Put my picture on your bed. Remember, we're doing the 32:06 15 minutes of healthy anger, getting it out, beating the bed. Put Mr. Joe's 32:11 picture. Get that picture off my website. Know the one that I'm smiling and 32:15 everything's so wonderful. Put that picture on your bed and beat the crap 32:19 bottom. I don't care. It's okay. I love you enough to ask when was the last time. 32:27 And you know why that's so important, folks? It's because no one ever asked me. They didn't. 32:34 It randomly happened on February 13, 1994. Randomly happened. He never asked me. I asked 32:43 myself. It's one of my first real, my second conscious thought. 32:49 But he comes in screaming, Joe, you're never going to believe 32:52 what these miserable blank blank blanks want me to do. I'm like 32:56 Lincoln, what the heck is wrong with you? You know, in any given 33:01 sentence, if there was 10 words in the sentence, three of them 33:04 were actual words, seven of them were swear words. That's 33:07 how we used to talk. And he says they want me to go 90 33:11 meetings at 90 days and not drink. And I remember thinking that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. 33:17 That's what I thought. And then I heard myself make fun of non-drinkers. 33:24 And then I asked myself the question, when was the last time? At that point, right before my 33:30 31st birthday, I went back to 14, probably 15, no way. So I've been drinking ever since. And 33:38 Seven days later, spiritually had a burning bush. 33:43 Path goes on, sexually abused memories. 33:46 And then I started my seven years of darkness 33:50 on April the 16th, 1994. 33:53 And why do I say that? 33:55 Because when I was in AA, 33:58 because my addiction was literally removed 34:03 in a burning bush experience, 34:05 God, if I'm not supposed to drink a drug 34:06 need helps, what I said, I feel a rush of energy, a tear comes down my face and all compulsion's gone. 34:14 I didn't walk into an AA meeting for 15, 16 months later and I was dry as I could be 34:21 and I'll never forget because my spot, my therapist at the time was 10 years, 12 years 34:27 in sobriety, black belt down on and she says, you know, Joe, you might want to go to this 34:33 AA thing, just check it out. 34:35 AA is a thing of attraction, not promotion. 34:38 And I remember thinking, what does she want from me? 34:42 I haven't drank and drug for 15 months. 34:46 What does she want? 34:47 And one day I finally walked. 34:49 I learned that 12 step recoveries 34:52 are about creating a relationship 34:54 with a power greater than yourself. 34:56 They're spiritual places. 34:58 Well, I didn't know that at a time. 35:00 I guarantee I'm one of the only people on the planet 35:02 I had ever walked in 15 months dry and said, I'm here. 35:06 What do I do? 35:07 In the beginning was kind of cool. 35:09 Eventually it was horrible. 35:10 Why? 35:11 Because the camaraderie of the meetings, 35:14 the camaraderie of the locations, 35:15 the camaraderie of the people, 35:17 they share their stories. 35:19 They can relate and have empathy and compassion 35:22 for each other because their experience 35:23 strength and hope is the same. 35:26 They hit the same stories. 35:27 They had to go to meetings, 35:28 get off the alcohol and all that. 35:30 well, that wasn't my story, literally. I never heard my story live. So even in my AA meetings, 35:39 which I attended frequently for many years, I never found anybody on the same type of path as me, 35:46 literally. And why do I say that? Because a lot of you out there are on a similar path to me, 35:52 and you'll never show up in an AA meeting. Why? Because you keep wondering why the 35:57 Nexie keep bringing up that 30 day thing about drinking, 36:00 Java and drinking five years, 10 years, 12 years. 36:02 Great, I hear you. 36:04 Dads in recovery are for the people that, 36:06 it's a Saturday, Joe. 36:08 How am I supposed to watch college football without alcohol? 36:11 Well, I just did it. 36:13 So if I can, you can. 36:16 And I say it like that because I care. 36:20 I want you to have the same type of cool life I have. 36:23 I got a great story in the end. 36:25 It's like why? Why do we want to? Got a great story in the end. I'm going to tell you exactly why you truly want to. 36:33 Generation of change, right? This is another perfect example of how humanity is waking up. 36:40 The veil between our consciousness and our feminine side is becoming thinner and thinner. It just is. 36:46 And I used the extreme example of 200 years ago owning a human here in the States perfectly legal. 36:54 Well, now think about just how hateful and horrible that was. 36:59 How could it have been so normal 200 years ago? 37:02 Because consciousness was completely dead, just was. 37:05 Well, I bring that forward to the world of recovery, 37:10 the world of removing alcohol out of your life. 37:15 And first off, you have to ask yourself the simplest of all questions. 37:18 Why is it there in the first place? 37:20 Well, it's there because probably whenever you started, 37:25 if you're like me, it's just what everybody did. 37:27 But that was 10 years ago, 12 years ago, 37:29 20 years ago, 30 years ago. 37:31 We are the generation of change, folks. 37:34 It's time for us to continue to change 37:37 so we can share with others living as the change. 37:42 It's my example. 37:43 So, and I can tell you in the AA world, 37:47 Literally, when I was getting sober, 30 plus years ago, 37:53 the bottom, the people that actually came in there 37:57 were people that had lost everything. 38:00 People on the eighth DUI, people that lost their jobs, 38:05 people that had been to prison. 38:08 Now, was that everybody? 38:10 No, was it most? 38:13 Yes, it really was. 38:15 And why do I say that? 38:16 because I'm literally listening to this this dad's in recovery and I hear this 38:22 young man on there which I fabulous sober now however many however long I 38:26 think I think his sobriety dates 2019 fabulous congratulations sir I don't 38:32 know his name but he told the story about how many months before that he 38:38 was in his own driveway cops came and arrested his ass 38:43 comes to find out. He sideswipes the bus, thinks it's a bender-bender, and comes home. 38:50 Well, someone gets a license, please pick him up. And he goes to jail. And in his mind, 38:57 this gentleman's mind, like he said, that should have been my bottom. I thought, 39:04 it brought back memories of 30 years ago. And this particular man, three kids, 39:11 Wife came and picked him up out of jail, 39:13 had plenty of money to bail himself out, and an aunt. 39:17 And I'm thinking, wow, he hadn't lost anything. 39:23 And he's sober today, not because of that event. 39:26 I didn't have enough time to listen to the whole thing. 39:28 I will, but I don't know what happened. 39:30 I'm not sure how he got in, but so he went to jail. 39:35 Well, wow, okay. 39:36 In his world, devastating for his wife, terrifying. 39:41 the guy on the phone, whoever was leading that meeting asked him, did you make amends to your kids? 39:46 Yes, I did. One, the others were too little. He lost nothing. And he sobered today. Why do I say that? 39:55 That's an absolute reflection. This man, this gentleman, again, I don't know his name, they'll 40:00 call him Fred. Fred is spiritually guided to get the heck off of alcohol. Fred saw 40:07 an embarrassing moment and use that as a instigator. 40:14 And now he's sober, six, seven years, 30 years ago. 40:21 I mean, it was a badge of honor to get arrested. 40:24 Well, people would talk about being arrested 15 times 40:28 and no one bailed them out. 40:30 Why? 40:30 A, they had no money and B, 40:33 because people around didn't care anymore. 40:35 Why? Because the stereotypical alcoholic of 30 years ago, let alone before me, I'm 30 years ago. 40:42 I had men that were 10 and 12 and 15 years sober before me. They told some really wild stories. 40:49 And I say it because that's a literal living, literal example of the world is different. It's different. 41:01 Mr. Cliff, he works for this company recovery.com. 41:05 I don't know a whole lot about that organization. 41:07 I know they're around the globe. 41:09 I know they're online. 41:12 So I said all the time, if you need help, 41:15 emotional, spiritual, mental, addiction, drugs, 41:19 alcohol, whatever, if you need help, 41:21 which if you're on a spiritual path, 41:23 you're probably gonna need some help. 41:25 If you're on an emotional growth path, 41:28 you need help. I always had help. Now I will tell you the difference when I went 41:35 into seven years of solitude there was a landline and I would see my spot my 41:41 counselor slash sponsor every two weeks. What did I do the other 13 and a half 41:48 hours 13 days and 23 hours? I sat in silence. Why? Because there wasn't the 41:56 Internet. There wasn't 1-800 call somebody. There wasn't online meetings. There wasn't 42:02 support. It wasn't there back then. What's there now? Right now. It's here. And I say 42:09 that. That's all part of the generation of change. That these emotional growth and spiritual 42:17 expanding that took me months and months and months. People can do now in two weeks, 42:25 three weeks, four weeks, this young man. Again, I'm not calling Fred. I don't know how old he is, 42:31 he never said. His kids were 9, 11 and 12, something like that. So he's probably mid 40s, 42:42 because this was six or seven years ago. Mid 40s. And now he's six, seven years sober. 42:49 maybe he's up or 40. 42:51 So most of his 40s with no drinking and drugging. 42:54 And it's just what's available to us today 43:00 and what we're able to do emotionally and spiritually today 43:05 because of the internet, 43:07 because of the prolonged caregivers. 43:11 I consider Mr. Cliff and Mr. Brandon prolonged caregivers. 43:15 I do. 43:16 I don't know how long they've been sober, 43:18 but regardless of how long they've been sober, 43:21 they're willing to take their time 43:23 out of their day and give back. 43:26 That's a prolonged caregiver. 43:28 There are more 20 year 12-stepers out there right now 43:31 around the globe. 43:33 Every one of you could start a podcast 43:36 just like Mr. Clefty. 43:37 All of you could. 43:39 Why? 43:40 Because A, you're gonna feel great. 43:42 And B, the people that get on are gonna feel great. 43:45 and you'll help people that listen. 43:48 My book, Filling the Void, please visit joemidiga.com. 43:53 It's for free, download it. 43:55 You get to download it for free. 43:57 I've got many books that have been pouring through me. 44:00 They'll all be there for free. 44:02 And this whole giving back concept, right? 44:06 I do it with the podcast, my podcast. 44:09 And I shared the story not long ago 44:12 that I'm now really in my silence, I'm being guided to get back out on the road 44:19 and do keynotes face-to-face with people, share my story, share my man in the 44:24 microphone story. Why? Because if I can go from almost homeless 30 years ago to 44:29 where I am now, if I can, anybody can. And literally I was guided to reach out 44:34 to big recovery centers, big online organizations, donate my time if they 44:42 to get me on stages, because that's a new world for me 44:45 to get out on stages. 44:46 I will share my experience, strength and hope for free. 44:50 And I'll tell the whole world about their organizations. 44:54 And you know, every one of them I reach out to 44:55 has an interest, I'll only reach out to one or two. 44:58 Someone will take me up on it. 45:00 And you say, well, why are you doing that, Joe? 45:02 You already got a podcast. 45:03 I don't know why. 45:05 It's just I'm guided to do it. 45:07 I want to sleep at night. 45:09 That's the bottom line. 45:09 And my next action to sleep is share my message on stages. 45:15 And sooner or later, I'll come across some organization 45:18 that will take me up on that. 45:21 And I plan to be out on numerous stages out in 2027, 45:24 wherever they send me. 45:26 I don't care. 45:27 It's all about sharing the message. 45:29 And that's all of you can do it. 45:32 All of you, you're already awake enough 45:36 to go share your experience, strength and hope 45:39 with another person. Many of you are bringing people to the Wee podcast. And how do I know? 45:45 I think we're coming up on a million downloads here soon. A million. And we'll be one year old 45:53 in two weeks. Well, hey, Joe, that's all of you. Wee. That's what I call it, Wee. Wee in 46:01 community. And what is the Wee as far as community and connection? What's it mean? 46:06 It means your higher power and my higher power are connecting around the globe in all of the different countries 46:13 We're connecting and the more we connect the more we grow the more we grow the more we connect and the more it all gets 46:19 There's more and more success with it more and more people come with it and then 46:25 just like 46:27 99% of every podcast out there and that's why the we podcast what we are doing here is so uniquely different 46:34 because I had no social media background. 46:36 I had no big media background. 46:38 I had no big money. 46:39 I wasn't a global star. 46:41 That wasn't any of those things. 46:42 That's why they call it the man in the microphone. 46:45 Well, because of all of you, 46:48 now I'm getting calls. 46:50 I'm literally gonna be interviewed 46:52 on some of the most well-known podcast on the globe, 46:57 literally, and wish me luck 46:59 because those people are gonna hear something 47:01 they never heard before. 47:02 Why? Because we're different. We are actually growing, healing and shifting, not 47:06 masking, trying to change people's mind and acting like it's not there. I don't 47:10 do that with the glass empty voices. We want to identify and grow through the 47:16 reason why we have the glass empty voices, not act like they're not there 47:21 and create a positive affirmation or whatever. Do I make anybody wrong? No. 47:26 All of those techniques were techniques of the yesterday, the how-to 47:30 process here at the WePodcast is let's heal the reason why you have the glass 47:37 empty voice. That's when you heal that everything becomes different you just 47:42 become different and I can tell you because of our successes what we're 47:47 doing here I'm starting to get press releases and got one coming out here 47:52 soon. And I'm like, I joke around my kids, they hammer me. And 48:01 he said, my boys two or three months ago, they said, you know, 48:04 dad Spotify's where people are. I act like I know, I shake my 48:08 head, right? I was aware I learned about Apple podcast. And 48:12 I didn't even know what a Spotify was. And I'm not 48:15 getting. And I say that both confronted myself. Yeah, a little 48:17 bit. I said even more, but that's why if I can do a 48:20 podcast anybody can, that's for sure. 48:22 Well, lo and behold, as fast as the week or two, 48:25 the WePod guest, number one, all weekend, 48:29 number one podcast on trending podcast on Spotify. 48:33 And what does that tell me? 48:34 That tells me a lot of people are listening. 48:36 Why? 48:36 Because humanity's waking up, folks. 48:38 Are they listening to Joe? 48:40 No, they're hearing the message of Joe's higher power 48:43 talking to their higher power. 48:44 And what does all of it mean? 48:46 Well, now that Spotify number one and all that stuff, 48:50 you know, my people, my producer and my PR lady, 48:53 they're doing press releases 48:55 and more and more people are coming here. 48:57 And why is that so important? 48:59 Because I've got a goal. 49:01 My intention is to help a hundred million people 49:03 wake up to the conscious understanding 49:05 that your answers are inside, not outside, 49:08 to give you the how to and make you aware it's possible. 49:14 Can I support your long term? 49:17 No, but I can point you to the direction of places 49:20 that as you go there, you'll be able to. 49:23 Dad's in recovery, listen to the podcast, 49:26 listen to their stuff, it's really good. 49:28 And you'll see exactly what I'm talking about 49:30 if you're the dad out there that needs it. 49:34 Divorce post, if you're going through a divorce, 49:36 you don't have to do it alone. 49:38 Technology, and this woman is an absolute example 49:42 of a generation lap human. 49:45 She's got more money than month 49:47 because she worked for 20, 30 years, 49:50 built a tremendous amount of income, 49:52 sold her old business. 49:53 I don't know what she did before, I don't know. 49:55 All I know is that she's well off 49:58 and now she's sharing her passion with something. 50:01 She's sharing her passion with a topic 50:03 she feels passionate about, obviously this divorce. 50:07 That's the type of person that if you're in need, 50:11 Go let that organization help you. 50:14 Let them help. 50:15 That's all part of the generation of change. 50:18 Am I financially connected to any of these people? 50:22 No, I don't even know these people. 50:26 Well, Joe, if you don't know them, 50:27 why are you telling about them? 50:28 Because I care about you, all of you, 50:32 everybody listening here, you are who I care about. 50:36 Why? 50:36 Because you are me and I am you. 50:39 We are no different. 50:39 I don't know where you are on your path. 50:42 I guarantee you I can connect to it. 50:44 I can relate to it. 50:45 So I look forward to meeting your faces out in public. 50:49 I just do. 50:50 And I care about all of you. 50:52 And I know that I go through some pretty challenging topics 50:56 here and I want to be able to point you to places 50:58 that can help you and help you grow, help you heal, 51:01 help you shift. 51:02 And then people will say, well, Joe, 51:03 you got this podcast, all these listeners 51:06 and all this and that, are you gonna make money on it? 51:10 No, will there be sponsors eventually? 51:12 I think so, as long as they don't interrupt this, why? 51:17 And I won't do anything that I don't believe in. 51:19 Why? 51:20 Because I'm not doing this for the money. 51:22 Well, people say, then Joe, how will you ever make any money? 51:26 You want to know, folks, how I'm gonna make money? 51:27 I'll tell you straight up. 51:29 I've got probably 20 books in me. 51:31 I've got three of them already written and edited. 51:33 I got six of them around me right now. 51:35 I can produce a book per two months. 51:38 And I put them up. 51:40 You remember what my goal is? 51:42 100 million people. 51:43 How about if everybody just buys one of my books for $1, 51:48 because that's what they'll end up being, 51:50 download for a dollar. 51:52 You wanna know honestly, 51:54 where Joe is gonna earn income, $1 per book. 51:58 Now, will it be a buck? 51:59 I don't know if you have it on Amazon, 52:01 whatever that is, I don't know. 52:03 But bottom line. 52:05 created a podcast in less than one year, 52:08 we can have close to a million downloads. 52:10 What do you think it's gonna be in three years, 52:11 five years, 10 years? 52:12 It's gonna be up to a hundred million downloads a month. 52:14 It is. 52:15 Why? 52:15 Because I didn't come up with a number. 52:17 A power much greater than me came up with that number. 52:20 Well, Joe, that's not possible. 52:21 Yes, it is possible. 52:24 If all you have to do is add the audiences 52:26 of all these masterful podcasters 52:29 that came way before Joe, 52:30 all of these big global brands 52:33 add their audiences together. 52:36 It's well in excess of a hundred million people, 52:38 well in excess of. 52:40 And nobody's gonna leave those podcasts 52:43 and listen to just we, 52:45 they're gonna listen to their podcasts, 52:47 they're gonna listen here. 52:48 So just so everybody knows, 52:50 will Joe make some money someday somehow 52:52 about the WePodcast? 52:54 Yes, a buck, a download. 52:56 And why is that important? 52:58 Because why I started the WePodcast 53:01 is because of my nonprofit called Project Smile. 53:05 Project Smile is a passion for me. 53:08 Look it up, projectsmile.world. 53:12 I have two caregivers in Uganda. 53:14 True, hardcore, absolutely love without condition. 53:21 Men who have dedicated their entire lives 53:24 to caring for orphans. 53:27 Both of them. 53:28 One man has 44 children under the age of six. 53:32 The other man has more teenage and they both have wives. 53:35 They both have kids. 53:37 True passion. 53:39 So most of the money I make here at the We Podcast 53:41 will be going to fund that. 53:45 Literally, I've got one of my guys, 53:48 he asked me just, he wants to go back to school. 53:51 He's got it, he wants to be 53:54 some type of nurse science something. 53:57 and they've given him a scholarship to do it. 54:00 But of course he has to have the money to travel 54:02 per semester. 54:03 And I asked, you know, it's $295 per semester. 54:08 That's twice a year. 54:10 And I told him, I said, we'll work on it. 54:12 Of course I'll get that to you. 54:14 My oldest son eats more than $295 of food a week. 54:21 Period, he does. 54:23 Now think about it. 54:23 I am an example of that whole idea of Generation LAP. 54:31 I have more money than month. 54:33 Most of you have more money than month. 54:35 Now, if the gentleman would have said to me, 54:37 brother B, it's $29,000, Mr. Joe. 54:40 I said, wow, well, good luck, congratulations. 54:42 I'll pray for you. 54:43 He said 295. 54:46 Now, how do you think I'm gonna feel in two years, 54:50 three years, however long it takes 54:51 where this man shows me his diploma 54:54 because I invested $295 per six months 54:59 in a human being around the globe. 55:00 How do you think I'm gonna feel? 55:02 I'll tell you how I'm gonna feel. 55:03 I'm gonna feel fantastic. 55:05 And that's gonna inspire him. 55:07 It's gonna inspire his kids. 55:08 It's gonna inspire everybody else. 55:10 Am I special? 55:11 No. 55:12 How'd I find him? 55:13 Linked in. 55:14 Why is it available? 55:16 Technology. 55:17 We are the generation of change. 55:18 and everybody on this 98% of you listening to me here, 55:23 you all have $295, you definitely, 55:26 that whole relationship started for 50 bucks, 55:29 saved a little girl's arm for $50. 55:31 Am I suggesting you go into LinkedIn 55:33 and find a caregiver in Uganda? 55:35 No, but go find someone somewhere somehow, 55:38 just like Mr. Cliff and Mr. Brandon did, 55:41 and they're giving back in that podcast, 55:44 you're gonna hear me talk about now all the time, 55:46 Dad's in recovery, they're giving back, but that they have full-time jobs, but they're giving back 55:51 You can do that same thing 55:54 the whole concept of 55:57 Conscious shifting and conscious growing and the next phase after we go from unconscious to conscious 56:04 And when we become conscious especially in the beginning we start hearing our thoughts and we're like oh boy 56:10 I didn't know all that was in there and in the beginning I would hear it 56:14 but I wouldn't identify it. There was no awakening to it. Truly. 56:20 I had two different, I had two different counselors tell me that, you know, 56:24 Joe, every time you criticize somebody, 56:26 there's one finger pointing out three fingers pointing back. So folks, 56:31 football, when they missed it, 56:34 you should hear me the quarterback. Oh my goodness. 56:37 Every time somebody misses a ball, I hear myself. Now again, it's, 56:40 I'm with just me. So I'm not, I, you know, I like to holler. 56:43 I have a lot of fun but I used to do that every day all the time. So listen to yourself. If you're 56:49 criticizing somebody else or shaming somebody else or making somebody else wrong, that's yourself 56:55 hate and fear acting out on another human. And what I'm asking you to do is slow down 57:02 in your silence, listen to the voices and make sure you start writing them out. 57:07 the how to, how do you go from being guided 57:11 by your glass empty voices to glass full voices? 57:14 You write down the glass empty voices. 57:19 For you 12-stepers out there, that's called a first step. 57:22 The first step of the program, 57:23 when you write out your first step, 57:26 is you write out the voices, literally. 57:28 And why do we wanna do that, Joe? 57:30 Well, because glass empty voices are based in fear. 57:35 And if fear is the only guidance system guiding you, 57:39 if you're making your Tuesday morning decisions 57:41 based on those fear-based voices, 57:44 if that's how it's happening, 57:46 then you're making your decisions based on fear. 57:49 Fear of losing what you have, 57:50 fear of not getting what you want. 57:52 That's what fear is. 57:53 That's why that's what happens. 57:55 And we didn't even know we'd do it. 57:56 Well, how abundant do you think your life is going to be 58:01 when fear is the primary motivation? 58:04 For most of you, not very. 58:07 Now, there are plenty out there 58:09 that their fear of not making enough money, 58:12 they go out there and make $5 million. 58:14 The challenge is, is there any peace, 58:16 serenity, or abundance? 58:18 No, because their fear of making it, 58:20 then when they have it, 58:21 they're gonna have a fear of losing it, 58:22 and then it's never gonna be enough. 58:26 Now, do I hope all of you go out and make $5 million? 58:29 Yes, I do, I really do. 58:31 But let's do it from glass full. 58:32 So how do we go from glass empty to glass full? 58:35 Well, you write down the glass empty voices. 58:37 You write them down. 58:38 You write them down on a list. 58:40 When I did my first step, literally, 58:44 I was in the program for a while, 58:46 and I didn't know what the heck I was doing. 58:48 I didn't know any of it. 58:50 The very first, and my counselor, Nancy, 58:53 said, you know, Joey, you need to write them down. 58:55 You write down those voices. 58:57 You know what my first voice in my head was? 58:59 I don't have any voices and literally I proceeded to write and I use legal 59:05 size paper and I filled eight pages of bullet point after bullet point and what 59:10 are those voices look like? You're too fat, you're too stupid, you're too ugly, 59:14 you're too black, you're too white, you're too this or I'm too ugly, I'm too 59:19 stupid, no one cares, no one loves me, I'm not good enough or she's a 59:29 It's the he voices and the she voices 59:34 is the projection of guilt. 59:37 They're doing something wrong, guilt. 59:41 The I voices, I'm this, I'm that, I'm whatever. 59:45 Those are shame-based voices. 59:47 And those are different things, yes. 59:50 Guilt voices were created from abandonment. 59:54 Shame voices were created from neglect, 59:56 all based in the inner child stuff, it is. 59:59 But we wanna get all of those voices out. 60:02 Are you gonna do it in one sitting? 60:04 Yeah, a lot of you probably will. 60:06 Did I? No, I did several. 60:08 Why? Because I had massively hateful, hurtful. 60:10 I was just a wounded pup, I just was. 60:14 And back in the day when I was doing it too, 60:17 there wasn't support. 60:19 My counselor would tell me to do it. 60:21 I didn't see her again for two weeks. 60:23 So now, and why is it important 60:26 because you write it down, then you have to tell somebody. And you want to tell somebody 60:30 that knows what the heck they're doing. You want to tell someone who's listening to this podcast. 60:34 It's not your partner's job, folks, to hear your dump. It's not. Your partner gets your overflow. 60:42 Not your partner. If a man's listening here, it's not your wife. And ma'am, 60:47 your husband's job not to listen to your first step. No. That's why you find a 60:51 a fellow traveler, as my one friend Jacqueline calls them, 60:54 or somebody else on this podcast, 60:56 and you tell somebody else your voices. 61:00 Why? 61:00 Because it gets them out of your head. 61:02 And literally in the action step, 61:06 in the act of telling somebody else, 61:08 you're identifying two parts of you. 61:12 The part doing the telling 61:14 and the part that's being told about. 61:18 The part sharing is a grander you. 61:21 The part that is being shared about is to hurt you, 61:25 is the glass empty you. 61:27 And I'm telling you, the more you do it, 61:30 the more you do it, the more you leave space 61:33 for more of an all-inclusive voice, 61:36 the voice you're gonna hear in silence, 61:38 that soft-spoken voice you're gonna hear 61:40 when you're in silence more. 61:42 You will, you'll hear it more. 61:43 And you want to be guided by the softer voice because when you're guided by that softer voice is going to guide you from a place of inclusion. 61:53 It's going to guide you in a place of all all possibility. It's going to guide you from a place of the all from love from support of all possibility. 62:03 When all possibility is the possibility you're living literally from a glass full you. 62:09 And if you understand that the world outside you is a reflection of you, not the source 62:16 of you, the reflection of you, so the fuller you become inside, the fuller your external 62:22 world has to become, period. 62:26 So why do you want to do it from that perspective? 62:28 Why do you want to do all this? 62:31 To heal, to grow, to shift, to change, yes, and the more you live from a grander 62:38 you, the more you create a grander external you. And that's where life is really a beautiful thing. 62:46 So I want to close with my last story. And it's one that it's just, it makes it all worth it. You 62:58 know, it just makes it all worth it. True purpose, true living as the highest you, true living 63:06 the why we have to surrender the old behaviors, 63:11 the why I say to people on this particular interview, 63:15 I asked, I listened to the guy, 63:18 asked the other guy, you make amends to your kids 63:21 and he shared and I thought, wow, 63:25 I never had to make amends to my kids. 63:26 I was sober 10 years before I had kids. 63:28 So what a blessing, right? 63:31 But the purpose, the whole idea of chasing 63:36 success outside it's there's nothing wrong with it folks make as much money as you want 63:45 have a wonderful external world and while you're doing that make sure though you hear your voices 63:55 so that you can heal the reason they're there and then when you heal the reason you're there you 64:01 You start expanding into a grander you and living it. 64:04 And as you're living the grander you, 64:07 you're living your purpose, but how do you live the purpose? 64:11 How do you, why were you born? 64:14 You were born to become a grander you. 64:17 And I'm telling you right now, 64:19 the grandest you does not need alcohol 64:24 while it's watching football. 64:25 The grandest you does not need to yell at your partner 64:29 every time they did something you don't like. 64:32 The grandest you doesn't need to smoke marijuana 64:34 just because it's legal now. 64:37 The grandest you is a part of you 64:41 that is connected to all that is 64:44 and the glory you feel as a consequence of living, 64:48 y'all is the reward. 64:50 And for me, I was talking to my youngest son. 64:55 I have two boys, for most of you, for new people. 64:57 My oldest son is an elite athlete. 65:00 He's 19 years old in his freshman year of college. 65:04 My youngest son is 15 years old. 65:07 He's an absolute modern day Mozart. 65:09 He's teaching himself how to day trade multiple languages. 65:13 I go on and on. 65:14 My kids are gifted and they're raised by a guy 65:18 who knows how to consciously raise them. 65:20 They were taught their entire life, 65:22 their gifts are inside, their gifts are of God 65:24 and God wants you to be as successful as you can possibly be 65:29 and as more successful you become, 65:31 as long as you give a little bit back to the world, 65:33 you'll have a wonderful life. 65:36 And both of my kids, I can tell you, 65:38 because of my sobriety, everything I learned here, 65:42 everything I'm sharing here, 65:44 my boys have been taught they lived in their entire lives. 65:48 And all of it was possible because of sobriety. 65:53 Let me put it another way. 65:53 none of it would have been possible if I'd still been drinking a drug and 65:56 actually I'd be dead. Period. I would be. But so here we are, right? And I was 66:04 talking to my youngest son and said something and he said, yeah, he said, 66:12 you know, Joseph goes out on these Friday nights and he 66:15 doesn't really like those things, but he's the driver. And I didn't think 66:21 much about it at the time. He's the driver. And I thought just tonight, after I listened to this 66:28 dad's and recovery thing, right? And I talked about it all the time, generation of change. We folks, 66:34 we're the generation of change. Who truly benefits from our change? It's the next generation. 66:41 And I'm sitting there, and that's why I had to get on this podcast right now and share. 66:45 there. My heart just was so full, exploded, like literally. I thought about it. And because 66:55 of my spiritual path, because of my going through the darkness, because of my work in sobriety, 67:01 because of my giving back and marrying, I didn't marry, get married to us 40. I had 67:07 my first child at 44, my second at 49, and single dad all these years still single 67:12 know. And I remember thinking way back when about the whole alcohol thing. My kids aren't 67:18 exposed to alcohol. It's not around. I mean, they see it, they know it, but it's not around. 67:25 And my oldest son, when I say a lead athlete, remember the name Midiga? Remember on the, 67:32 you know, the 2029 draft, you'll see his name. It's my kid. He's that kind of bizarrely 67:38 gifted, and he has been his whole life. He works super hard, but he's gifted. So 67:44 he's in that athlete world. He's in that big personality. Everything big, working 67:53 out all the time, the whole thing. The exact world I lived in. Not an elite 67:58 athlete, but the bigness was the same. And when I realized that, my son Joseph, 68:06 Because of my changes, he grew up in an environment that I didn't grow up in. 68:13 Because of my change, because of my growth, because of my awakenings, my awareness. 68:21 My son grew up in a different world. 68:24 He was told his whole life, and I'm proud of him, was told his whole life by his mother 68:28 and me both, that we love him. 68:30 He was told his whole life, he could do everything he wants. 68:33 And now he's literally living it. 68:35 I got none of that when I was a kid. 68:38 I taught myself, I gave it to myself 68:40 and I've been giving it to my sons and their amazing humans. 68:45 Well, tonight, when I realized that at 19 years old, 68:51 he'll be 20 here in a couple of months, 68:53 where my son is the driver, not the drinker. 68:57 It just like filled me to a place I can't explain. 69:02 Try to put a price tag on that, folks. 69:04 try. The whole chasing of success outside is price tag oriented. The whole truly 69:12 living from a place of meaning is priceless. My son Joseph is the driver, not the 69:20 drinker. I was the drinker and because of me living the generation to change, he's 69:29 not. The price you put on that is priceless. The price I had to go through, brutal. That's 69:42 why I empathize with all of you here. I know you're going through hard times. I know you're 69:47 going through challenging times. Please let my voice keep you company. I've been there. 69:53 I have I've been there in the darkest of darks. I've been there with memories of abuse 69:59 I've been there all alone. I have I've also been on this side where the reward and 70:07 The glory of the reward is past what words can 70:12 past what words can truly describe and I had that experience tonight 70:18 my oldest son is the driver not the drinker and 70:21 And that is just the consequence of living 70:28 has a higher purpose, truly. 70:30 And we can all do it. 70:32 I applaud Mr. Cliff and Mr. Brandon for dads in recovery. 70:38 My plan is to tell a half a million people about that. 70:41 I hope you go and listen. 70:43 You'll like it, especially if you're a dad, 70:45 especially if you're confused, especially why? 70:49 because you don't have to hit some massive hardcore, 70:52 lose everything to stop drinking on Sunday afternoons. 70:55 You don't have to. 70:57 And putting a substance in your bodies, 71:00 not making your life get any better, it's not. 71:03 I applaud these men and others like them. 71:05 You're going through a challenge 71:07 and outgrowing your partner in your end divorce, 71:09 go to divorce post, let these people help you. 71:11 They will. 71:12 My plan is to have more 71:14 when I can truly feel and sense 71:17 that a higher power is living through another human, 71:20 you're gonna hear it right here from me 71:22 because I'm not the only one. 71:25 I used to think I was years ago, 71:28 2022, September 22nd, 2022. 71:32 I heard a woman conscious. 71:36 My old voice came up. 71:38 You didn't fail your marriage. 71:40 You chose to live your divinity versus your spirituality, 71:44 your divinity versus your humanity. 71:47 And my entire path woke back up, it's four years ago now. 71:50 And we are all on a path. 71:54 We're all growing. 71:55 We're all shifting. 71:56 We're all embracing the depths of deeper stuff 72:00 and expanding to heights we didn't even know existed. 72:03 And because of it, we're changing the world. 72:07 Literally, we truly are. 72:10 And together we're doing it. 72:11 together we're changing together we're healing and together we're literally 72:17 making a difference one smile at a time and from around the world I truly want 72:25 to welcome you to we.
