White House Backs Mamdani's Police Pick

The White House welcomes New York Citys incoming mayor, Zohran Mamdani, following his decision to retain Jessica Tisch as police commissioner. This move, seen as a positive sign for public safety, comes after Mamdanis previous criticisms of the police force and his campaign focus on reform. Tischs continued role suggests a shared vision for lowering crime and supporting police officers. The White House views this as a potential bridge for cooperation between the new mayor and the president, with Trump expressing optimism about working together on shared goals like public safety and housing affordability.
