Thune's Spending Package Hits Roadblock in Senate

Senator John Thune is racing against time to pass a crucial spending package in the Senate, funding most federal agencies through next September. However, his efforts are hindered by objections from individual senators, stalling progress. Thune hopes to at least start the process before Christmas, but time is running out with only three weeks left in the session. Congress faces another potential shutdown deadline in January, and even if the Senate passes a package, finding a compromise with the House remains a challenge due to differing views on spending cuts.
