NATO Chief: Boost Defenses, Adopt 'Wartime Mindset'

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte emphasizes the urgent need for Europe to bolster defenses amidst ongoing threats from Russia and global instability. He warns that even if the Ukraine conflict ends, Moscow will remain a long-term security risk. Rutte calls for a wartime mindset, urging NATO members to significantly increase military spending and invest in essential equipment. He also stresses that any future peace talks regarding Ukraine must ensure Kyiv maintains control over its choices, including potential NATO membership. These remarks come as tensions rise within the alliance over funding, supply chains, and Europes reliance on US military support. The Daily News Now! - Every city. Every story. AI Powered.
