Margraten Cemetery Removes Black WWII Panels

Controversy erupts at American military cemetery in Margraten, Netherlands, as historical panels highlighting Black American service members contributions during WWII are removed without explanation. Panels, added in 2024, told stories of brave soldiers like George H. Pruitt and the discrimination they faced. Critics argue removal erases vital contributions, potentially aligning with current administrations stance on diversity programs. American Battle Monuments Commission remains silent on reasons and timeline of removal, while Dutch officials urge reinstatement. The Daily News Now! - Every city. Every story. AI Powered.
