Indiana Senate Votes on Trump-Backed Redistricting

Indiana State Senators Advance Trump-Backed Redistricting Plan: Amidst pressure from former President Donald Trump, Indiana state senators have moved forward with a proposal to redraw congressional boundaries, aiming to create more Republican-leaning districts ahead of next years midterm elections. The unusual mid-decade redistricting effort has faced hesitation from some Republicans, with one senator expressing fear for other states if such tactics become common. The proposed map, which would significantly alter existing districts and potentially eliminate the districts of Indianas two current Democratic congressional representatives, is set for a final vote in the full Senate later this week, serving as a test of Trumps influence within the Republican Party.
