Cruz Committee Investigates MLB Betting Scandal

Senator Ted Cruzs committee is investigating a betting scandal in Major League Baseball, involving players Tucupita Marcano and Jayro Ponce. The senators are concerned about the leagues oversight, as the scheme went undetected for over two years. Theyve requested documents and details from Commissioner Rob Manfred by December 5th. MLB has since implemented new safeguards, including a $200 cap on pitch-by-pitch wagers and a ban on parlays. This investigation comes after similar requests to the NBA, suggesting a potential widespread issue in sports betting. The Daily News Now! - Every city. Every story. AI Powered. Hosted on Acast.
