Movies: Donnie Darko

A troubled teenager in a quiet American suburb survives a freak accident when a jet engine crashes through his bedroom, and he escapes only because a man in a creepy rabbit suit lured him out of the house. That same voice tells him the world will end in 28 days, and as the countdown ticks down, Donnie’s reality starts to unravel into time travel, strange visions, and secrets that refuse to stay buried. It is a dark, strange, endlessly debated cult classic, with Jake Gyllenhaal in a career-defining early role, and if you have never seen it, The Best Movies You’ve Never Seen, thanks to Fetch and Hisense, is giving you the perfect reason to do so.
