The Sounds of Lost Merv with Jack Benny and Montgomery Clift

TVC 455.1: Steve Randisi, author of The Merv Griffin Show: The Inside Story, joins Phil Gries for Part 3 of our Sounds of Lost Television tribute to the critically acclaimed NBC daytime talk show that Merv Griffin hosted between October 1962 and March 1963. Highlights include a clip from Merv's interviews with Montgomery Clift—one of the actor's few appearances on a daytime talk/variety show—and Jack Benny. The latter segment reveals why the iconic comedian chose for his onscreen persona to remain age thirty-nine.
