Meth Cannon - Jose Francisco Herrera Munoz and Angel Gonzales Gutierrez

In this episode, we dive into one of the most creative—and ill-fated—contraband plots in recent history. In February 2025, two Colorado teenagers were caught outside USP Pollock in Louisiana with an industrial-grade compressed-air cannon and nearly $200,000 worth of methamphetamine and tobacco. Their plan, dubbed "Operation Up & Over," was to launch the massive haul over the prison’s high-security perimeter. We discuss the "arms race" of modern prison smuggling—from drones to cannons—and how a vigilant deputy stopped a major drug infiltration before a single shot was fired. It’s a story of high-tech ingenuity meeting a colossal legal miscalculation.
