Nicole Lovell

In January 2016, 13-year-old Nicole Lovell vanished from her home in Christiansburg, Virginia, after apparently climbing out of her bedroom window for a secret late-night meeting. Nicole had endured serious health problems from infancy and struggled with bullying and loneliness, often turning to social media to connect with others. When investigators examined her online activity, they discovered she had been communicating for months with an older Virginia Tech student through the messaging app Kik. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss Nicole Lovell. What began as a missing-person investigation quickly took a horrifying turn when Nicole’s body was discovered 90 miles from home in North Carolina. Digital records, GPS data, surveillance footage, and forensic evidence would ultimately reveal an elaborate plot involving two Virginia Tech students and raise disturbing questions about online predators, manipulation, and the dangers vulnerable children can face on the internet.
