John Gibbons, Toronto Blue Jays

Gibby!! Former Toronto Blue Jays Manager John Gibbons talks about why he loves Toronto [and why Toronto loves him back], the story behind writing his new autobiography, why Josh Donaldson wrote the foreword, his back to back ALCS appearances in 2015/2016, the Jose Bautista bat flip [“whole stadium was shaking!”], the Jose Bautista punch up [“he got rocked but never went down!”], the Shea Hillenbrand incident [“it was gonna be him or it was gonna be me...and it sure wasn't gonna be me!”], the Ted Lilly dustup [“Ted’s a big boy!”], learning ‘head before heart’ as the lesson from Mookie’s grounder going past Buckner leading to the ’86 World Series win for his NY Mets, thoughts on Gary Carter/Carlos Delgado/Roy Halladay/Cito Gaston/Alex Anthopolous/JP Riccardi/Paul Beeston, why the Jays’ best off-season move was getting rid of that home run jacket, sharing bunting strategies with Rush’s Geddy Lee, and why ‘John Gibbons Day in Toronto’ on September 26 2018 was the BEST DAY EVER! John Gibbons’ new memoir GIBBY Tales of a Baseball Lifer is published by ECW Press and available at your preferred bookseller!
