Vlad Jr. Breaks Drought, Blue Jays Surge | Toronto Blue Jays News

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. finally cracked the home run drought at Rogers Centre, launching his first homer of the season in game 150 — and the crowd went wild, chanting his name and giving him a curtain call. With nine homers total (eight on the road), he’s still leading the charge with 56 RBIs. Meanwhile, rookie Kazuma Okamoto joined the party with his own blast, making it three straight homers for the Blue Jays — a first this year — and setting a new rookie RBI record at 85. Despite a tough 75-75 season and a disappointing slump after last year’s World Series, Toronto’s fight is far from over. They crushed Baltimore 8-1, winning six of their last ten games and staying alive in the Wild Card race as the AL remains wide open.
