Blue Jays Sign Versatile Infielder Rodolfo Castro

The Toronto Blue Jays have signed Rodolfo Castro to a minor league contract, offering him a spring training invitation. Castro, a 26-year-old switch-hitting infielder, brings Major League experience to the team, having played for the Pirates and Phillies. He boasts a .219 batting average and .672 OPS, with power from both sides of the plate. Last season, he hit .235 with 19 home runs at Triple-A. Castros versatility, playing multiple infield positions, makes him a strong candidate for a bench spot or call-up to Toronto. DNN | The Daily News Now! The world’s first global local news network.
