No, I had the uh, well 3:57 I had the the Haley Bieber smoothie when I first came out here. I didn't know it was like this 4:02 Mm-hmm viral thing it was like food coffee groceries. It was all these cool little 4:08 things I like everyone you thought it was just smoothies yeah I thought it was 4:12 just the smoothies also like the area where everyone is like in Studio City 4:18 I could just kill ours there people watching Sportsman's Lodge baby yeah 4:23 There's some beautiful people that walk through, including me. 4:29 Hey, I'm in that group now too. 4:32 Keep an eye out for Suze. 4:34 Keep an eye out. 4:35 I get lunch there sometimes 4:36 if anyone's hot, single and rich listening. 4:41 And rich. 4:43 Just saying. 4:44 I love it. 4:45 I love it. 4:47 Yeah, how are y'all doing? 4:48 Looks cold up there. 4:49 Nick, you gotta be up. 4:50 You gotta be up. 4:51 We're doing great. 4:52 I'm thriving. My brewers are right when you're well and when we're recording this are up two games to none by the time 4:58 You guys are listening this tonight's game will happen. Okay. A lot of people are saying I don't know people might be saying 5:04 Who cares about baseball that might be true 5:06 And then people might say who cares about the brewers in the Tampa Bay Rays because they're small markets 5:09 But I will say the highest rated world series in the past 13 years. Is it really? Wow 5:16 No way the Mizorowski effect. Who is your team's growing up Jimmy Cubs and socks 5:22 Just Chicago teams you die hard. No, like when they want when the World Series one when the Cubs won the World Series in 2016 5:28 Skip school went downtown for the parade. Yeah did all of that 5:32 But if the socks I would describe like the the Brewers the their their social media team 5:37 They put out like every time they win a series they put like a they make like a movie like five minutes long 5:42 That's awesome highlights every time I watch it. I cry 5:45 I made Natalie watch it and I was blubbering next to her like watching 5:49 What's crazy about the Brewers being good in baseball is because it's usually like the teams that can spend the most win the most 5:56 It's not like NFL or NBA where there's a salary cap like in baseball like if you got the most bread 6:01 You're usually gonna show up in the world. Yeah, and there's like a they're they're fighting right now 6:05 There's a whole debate over it 6:06 But like it is it's fighting the MLB in the union there there might be a lot lack of but that that we're getting 6:12 We're nerding out. That's too much nerd 6:14 for the show. 6:16 Mizorowski. 6:17 It's so, I'm just like so happy for the city of Milwaukee 6:21 and this feels like this would never happen 6:25 and like the kid in me is like feeling so alive. 6:30 Y'all just won an NBA championship though, with Yanis. 6:33 Not the same. 6:34 I feel like that was forever ago. 6:36 It was a few years ago. 6:37 It was like a couple years ago. 6:37 Bulls haven't won shit. 6:39 I grew, the Brewers in baseball, 6:42 like Milwaukee's a baseball town 6:44 And they always have been a baseball town and like I grew up listening like 6:48 There's nothing about baseball. It's the one sport where like lit like 6:51 You could listen to a game on the radio and it's almost just as good as watching it 6:56 Like you if you are like on a campfire and you're camping and you had a baseball game to listen to it's like it is 7:02 There's something about that being a pastime and I just want to say now 7:06 They asked me this question over the weekend 7:08 I thought it was interesting because I was kind of in my thoughts and feelings about like we're in Vancouver 7:12 and I'm so sad I can't be in the city of Milwaukee right now 7:16 because like it is home 7:17 and when the city loves its teams 7:20 and the city is so alive right now 7:22 and like everyone's just happy, 7:24 everyone's rooting for their team. 7:26 It's just like, it's like a magical place to be. 7:28 And over the weekend, now it goes, 7:30 what about like, you know, we have our kids, 7:32 we love them, they're great. 7:33 We're, you know, they're, you know, 7:35 Iris held her bottle by herself 7:37 for the first time last night. 7:39 That's cool. 7:39 Such a monumental moment, right? 7:41 So beautiful, but now it was like first of all Iris held her bottle for the first time 7:46 We're like, oh my gosh look at Irish 7:48 She's holding her bottle and then we look down and dove is holding her own 7:52 Yeah 7:54 Nally goes to me over the weekend. She's like what like what is one thing you kind of miss about our old life? 7:59 Like just not having kids 8:02 The question was something like that. No my question. Maybe you heard me wrong and that's why you answered the way you did 8:07 I was confused why you answered that way 8:11 I know I said, where do you feel it the most 8:13 that we have three kids? 8:15 Oh, the same thing. 8:16 Well, because, and so she asked me on a weekend 8:19 where I'm thinking, like my team 8:22 for the first time in my life is in the World Series 8:24 and there's a good chance they will never make it again. 8:26 And all I wanna be right now is in the city of Milwaukee 8:30 going to these games and I wanna bring my hot partner. 8:34 You know, like when before we got married 8:36 and before we had kids, I would have been like, 8:38 all right, hot girlfriend, wife, whatever. 8:40 or let's go to my hometown, we'll go out to the bars 8:43 and I'm gonna take you out to dinner 8:44 and we're gonna live it up 8:45 and I'm gonna show you my city and it'll be great 8:47 and we're gonna have a bunch of sacks 8:49 and we're gonna watch sports and it'll be great. 8:51 And now it's like, I hope I can catch the game. 8:55 You know, like I gotta put the twins down. 8:57 We got, you know, it's like, it's just, 8:58 you have so much more responsibility. 9:00 And before it was like, you could just drop things 9:03 at, you know, at a whim and just go experience. 9:06 And like it is, it's really hidden to me at a time 9:09 where it's just like, I would love nothing more to do that. 9:12 And I just, I can't right now. 9:14 And I'm so grateful I can't because of what I have 9:16 that's bringing me and keeping me here. 9:18 I will say though, even though I can't like go to the games 9:23 and I'm not like with my buddies and everything. 9:25 The beginning of last year, like I was always been 9:29 like a baseball fan, but it's hard to keep up 9:32 when you don't live in the same city. 9:33 And it's those 160 games. 9:34 But I was like, I want to watch the Brewers. 9:36 And I went and like bought the package 9:38 so I could watch him. 9:39 And now he was like, she enjoyed watching the games with me, 9:42 not another like a sports fan like sort of way, 9:45 but like as like as someone who enjoyed watching their partner 9:48 enjoy the games and it became something we did. 9:51 And we would play the, we put the games on almost every night 9:54 usually in the background while we're cooking dinner or whatever. 9:57 So it is kind of even though I'm here in like Vancouver, 10:01 it's like a nice full circle moment like that, 10:03 like something I get to share with my wife, you know, 10:05 because she supported me over the past couple of years, 10:08 is like watching all these games. 10:09 So it is kind of poetic that I am here 10:11 with my wife watching my brewers. 10:13 That's lit. 10:14 So sweet, you guys. 10:16 So thanks. 10:17 You're welcome. 10:17 I'm just so excited. 10:19 I just can't believe this is happening. 10:20 I literally can't believe that they're on the verge 10:23 of maybe winning the World Series. 10:25 And it's just like, I'm trying to cherish this 10:27 because I don't think it's ever gonna happen again. 10:29 It's true for those small market teams. 10:31 Like you don't know if you're ever gonna get back. 10:32 That's why the thunder or like the whole city. 10:35 It was crazy in Oklahoma City 10:37 Because the Thunder have a chance year in and year out right now and small markets 10:40 And I just love the way the city comes alive the people like it's like it really though 10:45 Can it just makes you feel proud to be where you're from, you know 10:49 I hope my future partner can you know get down with that the same way because I want to be the person 10:54 That's obnoxiously like sitting courtside at every Chicago Bulls game when I get older 10:58 Well, I don't get to go to every game Jim. You got to pick your spots, you know 11:01 I'm saying you got to be that's right. We try to watch 11:07 You got to get your chores done yeah, you got to get your chores done 11:09 But like Nick does still have to go down and pick up the uber eats food from the lobby because I won't be going down there 11:15 I already got my sweatpants on and I don't have shoes on they know so he might have to miss a couple pitches 11:22 Easily accomplishable task though that you can get brownie points for yeah, it's about I went and got the uber eats boom 11:28 You got to get the whatever when we're not watching the brewers 11:32 dominate in the world series, 11:33 we started watching this like Stanford prison experiment. 11:37 What is the actual name of it? 11:39 It's called the new Stanford prison experiment. 11:41 Which is funny because like basically all of reality TV, 11:45 the Bachelor, love is blind. 11:48 Anytime we've ever talked about these shows, 11:50 we've always referenced the Stanford prison experiment 11:53 because that is essentially what these shows 11:55 are all kind of rooted in, right? 11:58 But they're recreating this actual experiment 12:00 that was that famously happened in the 70s. I think everyone knows about the Stanford 12:05 Prison Experiment at this point, but it was a famous experiment that happened at Stanford 12:08 University where this professor got a bunch of students and they made half of them inmates, 12:13 half of them guards, and it was supposed to happen over two weeks and they had to 12:17 shut it down in a few days because they immersed themselves so much in these roles 12:21 that it got out of control. And basically it was an experiment of how quickly people will 12:26 adapt to a controlled environment and kind of become their environment, you know, or like 12:33 nature versus nurture type of experiment. It's ironic, though, when you're watching the Netflix 12:39 show, they talk about how the original experiment was actually kind of manipulated by the, I think 12:45 the professor or whoever the guy was running it. And I'm watching it and I'm like, oh, so like, 12:51 that's like, that sounds like a reality TV producer, you know, like, 12:54 You know, in a sense. So then it's like, it's funny how the Stanford prison experiment you find out originally actually operated more like a reality TV show. 13:04 And here now you have years later, a reality TV show trying to recreate an experiment. 13:09 Interesting. 13:10 Which is kind of meta in a little way. 13:12 Kind of a conception. 13:13 But when you're watching it, you're kind of like, well, how is it how, how much of this is actually an experiment versus because a true experiment has no very like it's all everything's controlled. 13:23 It doesn't have people manipulating situations 13:27 because that changes the authenticity of how things play out. 13:31 Like on this experiment, they're deliberately casting people. 13:34 Like Crazy Larry, former inmate. 13:37 Scary Larry. 13:37 Scary Larry. 13:38 Spoiler alert, he like quits in the first couple days 13:40 because he's like, you know what? 13:41 I've been to prison. 13:42 He's just triggering. 13:44 I don't need this anymore. 13:45 He was hoping to get a guard roll. 13:46 He was like, let me get a little revenge. 13:48 I've seen the other side. 13:50 I'm curious if you guys got to the part where they... 13:52 Have you guys seen episode two? 13:53 We started watching episode two. Okay, me too. I'm like halfway through. I'm pretty sure they they got to they do this like this raid 13:59 Did you guys see that part? Oh, no, we haven't no, okay 14:03 See this is where it starts to feel like it's not control a control group 14:07 So I'm like I actually am curious if people really just like succumb to whatever world they're given 14:12 But I'm like you guys are giving very specific directions that are influencing the project in a negative way 14:19 And also the people that are taking this too serious are the ones that ruin it 14:22 I always think of everything through the lens of sports is just what I know and in 14:26 Basketball when you have these teams that have their identity because the coaches assigned these roles like you're we're playing through you 14:33 You're our glue guy you box out your rebound 14:36 That's really all you do you set screens and those teams end up 14:39 Performing the best usually and I remember at Ohio State like when it was we kind of decided like who our captain was gonna be 14:46 He took on like this whole persona and ego that came with it 14:51 And truly just because like it was just one day the next we saw the work he put in 14:56 But like coach said you're our captain now and in that moment like they're in there like from that day forward 15:01 He just became this new kind of person. Hmm. Well, it's interesting to me is that there's 15:06 So there's two like main 15:10 Guys I guess that are have two interesting perspectives and I feel both of them 15:15 So one of them and I don't know their names because they go by their inmate numbers 15:18 and I also don't remember the numbers, 15:20 but there's one guy who's like, 15:22 I am gonna show my son that like following authority, 15:26 like regardless if you agree with the authority or what, 15:29 like you follow authority and that's like how you, you know. 15:33 Authority is still authority. 15:34 I think he said something like that. 15:36 And then there's the other guy 15:37 who's like this history teacher 15:39 and he's like, I wanna show my students 15:41 that like you can push like the level of power. 15:44 Like that's, you know, you don't have to conform 15:46 and you don't have to, you know, 15:48 and so it's so interesting to watch this guy be like, 15:52 let's just like stop listening to what they, 15:55 let's just stop doing what they tell us to do 15:57 and like see what happens. 15:59 And the rest of them who are kind of like, 16:01 I don't know, I guess we were just like, sure. 16:03 Yeah, yes, guard. 16:04 And it's like so many of the, 16:06 I appreciate the history teacher being like, 16:09 I want to push these boundaries 16:10 because I do feel like it's 14 days. 16:13 They know it's 14 days. 16:14 They know that they can say the word pineapple 16:16 and they can be taken out of the experiment, 16:18 but it's like, I feel like so many of them 16:20 would just probably skate by 16:22 because they all seem like such nice people 16:25 and no one wants to like ruffle the feathers, you know? 16:28 Yeah, like no one wants to be the dick. 16:30 What's interesting is that it's supposed to be 16:31 an experiment, right, to see how people behave, 16:33 but now that they know they're doing it on camera, 16:35 they're doing it for their studies. 16:37 Well, that's another thing, right? 16:38 Or they're doing it for their kids 16:39 and it's not true to the experience. 16:41 It's a little bit, it is hard, yeah. 16:43 It's hard to feel like they're staying true the experiment sometimes. I thought what was interesting thinking about how it relates to 16:51 Our real life because you have the night shift and the day shift of guards 16:54 Mm-hmm, and you have completely different vibes. You have like the one I think the night shift is like the guy who's 17:00 Who's just you know called himself enough? I was like 17:04 I'm a fun boss, you know, I'm the fun parent. You know playing games 17:09 What is going on? I love I hated that I loved it 17:13 the real like I don't know if he's like a real correction or officer or if he just like works at the prison or something 17:18 But he's like I have never seen this 17:21 Like yeah, it's crazy 17:23 What I thought was the most interesting about it regardless of whether you disagree or 17:28 You know what style you prefer 17:30 But like from a parenting standpoint i'm watching this because I just something I appreciated my parents about my parents so much 17:38 Is that they were always like a united front and that's the thing we would get the most in trouble 17:43 if we try to pit our parents against each other, right? 17:46 Or say, well, mom said this or something like that. 17:50 And we're early in our parenting journey now and I. 17:53 And so we talk about this stuff all the time 17:55 about just trying to, you know, being on the same page. 17:57 And like when we don't agree, 17:58 when do we have those conversations? 17:59 Cause we're also just kind of figuring 18:01 this shit out as we go. 18:02 And you see how quickly these two positions 18:06 of authorities, right? 18:07 You got the night shift and the day shift 18:09 and then being have completely different styles 18:12 And you can tell they want to they both care about like the inmates listening to them 18:17 Yeah, and they quickly are competing with each other in a way that so quickly the inmates notice 18:23 And then they use that against the guards, you know 18:27 Is in conflict and it was just like it's just it just like demonstrated just how important it is for parents 18:33 And just how quickly kids can pick up on like parents just trying to like almost curry favor with their kids 18:40 like doctor pids, you know, especially with parents who have to separate, you know, and 18:44 you're, and you're co-parenting and like, you know, one time the kid goes to mom's house for a 18:49 couple of days, then dad's house and just the challenge of co-parenting when you have 18:53 parents competing for the kid's affection rather than focusing on like making sure that the 18:59 kids listen and they do their lessons and that you are united front. It's just like that 19:04 That demonstration of how detrimental competing two positions of authority when they're competing, 19:11 how destructive it can be, that was so fascinating. 19:14 Just how quickly it was so obvious to the inmates and how they didn't respect them 19:19 for it. 19:21 I actually preferred how the night officers handled most situations, but I thought they 19:27 set them up for failure. 19:29 And it also reminded me of a metaphor for parenting when you know a lot of people are like 19:34 Oh, I want to be cool with my kids and it's like yeah 19:36 But kids need structure and they need like authority. I have a great relationship with my parents always did always felt friendly to them 19:44 But also they were like the authority where I felt like the night shifters. They didn't enforce the rules 19:49 They didn't even like tell them all the rules 19:51 so then when the day shift showed up which is like real life which is like going to college or 19:56 or getting a job when you're held responsible 19:58 and held accountable for rules and authority. 20:02 It's like kids who go to college 20:04 and they're like, I've never respected authority in my life. 20:06 And like, why do I have to do what you tell me? 20:08 Like I've never done that before. 20:10 So they set them up for failure. 20:12 And then the day team was like, 20:13 they were assholes on top of the fact 20:15 that the inmates had no idea what they were meant to do. 20:18 So I was like, damn, 20:19 this is really just like a metaphor of life. 20:22 It was so crazy. 20:23 Yeah, that part of the show is very fascinating 20:25 just to see how people respond to how being told what to do or because yeah, we want our kids to 20:35 respect authority. You know what I'm saying? We want our kids to listen to other parents on the 20:40 playground. I want my kids to listen to their coaches. I want other adults if our kids are 20:47 acting up to respectfully and that's a challenge these days because you don't 20:54 necessarily see that with every parent. 20:56 It's so, it's so interesting. 20:57 We were at the park here in Vancouver yesterday 21:01 and we're with like some, a friend of ours 21:04 who also has one of their sons 21:06 and we weren't paying attention 21:08 to everything that was happening, 21:09 but all of a sudden the little boy that we were with 21:11 like starts crying and like freaking out. 21:13 And we were like, oh no, like what happened? 21:15 And then this dad comes up to Nick and I 21:17 and he's like, I'm so sorry. 21:19 Like I, he was throwing a stick 21:21 and I told him like not to throw the stick. 21:22 I just want you to know like that's why he's crying. 21:26 And it was like, you know, I appreciated like him 21:29 coming to us like that and like telling us what happened. 21:31 But it's like, I think at the end of the day, 21:35 I just embarrassed the kid, but like more than anything. 21:38 But it's like, yeah, like in those situations, 21:40 you know, you do need to- 21:42 I was like, thank you. 21:43 Yeah. 21:43 We were like, no, that was smart. 21:46 Yeah, he should not be throwing a stick at the park. 21:48 Like appreciate that. 21:48 You don't want people to get hurt, yeah. 21:50 Yeah, that matters and you just don't see it. 21:52 You don't see that as much. 21:53 I feel like there's a lot of parents these days 21:55 or like no one tells my kid what to do about me. 21:58 Well, it was like in Teen Moms or Teen Moms 22:00 when the one kid got pulled for, 22:02 he was damn near throwing a no hitter or something. 22:04 Or no, this was in, I think a different, 22:06 or this was in The Lanterns. 22:07 So this is a show, different show I was watching. 22:09 But like, the dad was basically like, 22:12 he pulled my kid, like he got mad at the coach 22:14 because the kid disrespected his coach 22:16 being like, don't pull me, 22:18 I'm in the middle of throwing a no hitter. 22:19 And the dad doubled down on it, 22:21 They're like, no, you're allowed to get mad at authority 22:23 if you're throwing a no hitter essentially when it's like. 22:25 That's crazy. 22:26 Yeah, and you're still a kid, man. 22:27 But also it's just like, 22:29 it just shows everyone's perspective is so different. 22:32 You know what I mean? 22:33 And like, and there's not necessarily a right or wrong. 22:36 There's like a my way that I think is right. 22:38 But you know, it's like, that's like, that's freedom. 22:43 That's living in this country, you know? 22:44 It's crazy. 22:45 100%. 22:45 Well, we have a jam packed episode 22:47 lined up for you today. 22:49 We have Erica from love is blind to update us on her journey with Blake and all your burning questions that you have for her 22:57 Like what was she gonna pack on the boat all those questions that we you are dying to hear from Erica 23:04 We got the answers and she is coming up shortly and then we have a very exciting interview 23:09 I'm so excited. 27:37 It's always like a very, you know, 27:40 prickly process for all you guys 27:42 and you know, fans feel fan. 27:45 So overall, how was it been? 27:47 Overall, it's been a really exciting, 27:50 like adventure and really fun to kind of watch it back. 27:55 Some things you remember as is, 27:57 other things give you a little bit more of a surprise 27:59 when you see, 28:01 but overall very grateful for the experience so far. 28:04 What's kind of given you that surprise? 28:06 I think one thing that I've known about myself 28:08 and I've kind of seen it come to light 28:09 through like my career and work is like, 28:12 whenever I'm in like a new environment or new situation, 28:16 I'm sort of like an observer. 28:18 I kind of like take a step back. 28:19 I'm like looking at things really listening and there's it might not look like a lot is going on here 28:25 But so much is going on up here 28:28 And I think it's making me come across maybe a bit more stoic or quiet than I would think I am in real life 28:35 But I'm hopeful that in the next you know few episodes you start to see me come out of my shell a little bit 28:42 Be a little bit more playful and fun 28:45 So, it's kind of surprised me to see really how truly quiet I look on the outside. 28:51 I don't think you look that quiet. 28:52 I think it's tough being on TV, and I think when you go on there, obviously, it's hard 28:59 not to look at comments, and I don't know what you've seen, but I think it's easy to 29:04 see some rando, make some random criticism, and hone in on that. 29:08 I think you talk a lot. 29:10 It's great. 29:10 Try not to pay too much mind to the comments. 29:13 That's good. 29:13 It's easy to get wrapped up, but I try to limit my screen time to keep my my mental health in check 29:21 Yeah, at the end of the day it only matters what my mom thinks 29:27 Which is true, but we are gonna ask you some questions at the internet 29:31 A big question a lot of people are having obviously when it comes to you and Blake right was this idea about 29:38 about how much, you know, do you accept and listen 29:41 to what that person's trying to tell you 29:43 about what their life is 29:44 and what they're going to bring to the table 29:46 and how much you guys can change. 29:47 I feel like the audience, and we're all kind of watching it, 29:50 is seeing it from both ends, you and Blake, right? 29:53 Like here you are, like you're moving in, 29:54 you're like, I'm going to make this place so great 29:56 that he's never going to want to leave. 29:58 And he's just like every day, it's just like, 30:00 can I tell you this, can I have a new pitch 30:02 about this boat? 30:03 And it's like, we fucking get it, 30:05 you're on a fucking boat. 30:05 But anyways, but you're both kind of like, 30:08 it does seem, I think to the audience 30:10 that neither of you are like hearing 30:13 that the other person like Blake is like, 30:15 no, I'm literally, I am gonna leave as soon as we get done. 30:19 I'm gonna go sailing forever. 30:20 And you're like, I don't know if I ever wanna touch water. 30:24 I'm kidding. 30:26 But like, so walk me through just like, 30:28 again, as so much as we see in these shows, 30:31 are we missing anything? 30:33 What really happened in the pods? 30:34 and I guess what's reality versus how it's coming across 30:40 and what have you learned about how you dated 30:44 and how you listened in that pods versus what you're seeing? 30:47 When you're watching the pods, 30:48 things are very expedited. 30:51 There's obviously thousands of hours of footage 30:53 that's captured and you get maybe seven minutes 30:56 to see it kind of all come together. 30:58 One thing that was so interesting about Blake and I, 31:01 we didn't even talk about our careers 31:03 until like four or five dates in. 31:07 We had so many like, 31:08 and I'll call it the invisible string theory 31:10 where like we were living in San Diego at the same time. 31:14 We both have a family and home space in Wisconsin. 31:20 We were in Barcelona at the same time. 31:24 He opened a distillery, I opened a kombuchery. 31:26 Like there was just so many things 31:29 that we were talking about where like 31:30 like his career was not the first thing that we touched. 31:34 But a lot of the gals in the lounge 31:36 were talking about a fisherman or a captain. 31:40 And I didn't even know that that was Blake 31:42 like straight out of the gate. 31:44 And I really do feel like I got to fall in love a bit 31:47 with like Blake outside of his career, 31:50 which was like a really interesting, you know, experience. 31:54 But also he was able to tell me 31:55 about his career on his own time. 31:57 And we started to like peel that onion back. 32:00 I would say like in the middle of the of the pod dating 32:04 timeframe, I feel like we try to prioritize like love over logistics like I'm a I'm a very like 32:11 Logical person. I'm a realist like I've had to operate 32:16 You know my life, especially the last five years that way and I just wanted to let myself fall a little bit 32:22 Like let's just have fun like let's just feel it like can I still even feel it? 32:26 Like I've been single for like five years, you know 32:29 And so I just let like the sparkle and the romance of things like 32:34 Manifest and I feel like I'm maybe getting a little bit of slack from the internet for like maybe living in the clouds a little bit 32:41 But it was a lot of fun. Listen Erica 32:44 I I appreciate you saying that I before I met my wife at that feeling of will I ever feel it was so relatable 32:51 I think a lot of us as we get older in life 32:53 You know and I talk about this a lot when we're younger and we date 32:56 And we don't know what like you we've never like felt anything before you're like, this is great 33:00 I love you like I've never felt butterflies and then you date for a while and life happens 33:05 And maybe you you know have a few heartbreaks and like you just get a little not necessarily jaded but like you know 33:12 You become a little bit more pragmatic about love and then you have this period of dating where you're like you're so like 33:17 Looking for the red flags looking for the green flags, right? 33:20 And it's really hard to let yourself go in dating and I remember for the longest time being like 33:26 I think I'm just gonna pick someone because if it wasn't like reality TV or just you know 33:30 like I was so it was really hard for me to like 33:33 fall 33:34 Uh, and I think that's a feeling that's so relatable uh for people in like especially in their 30s who are dating 33:40 Who've experienced a little bit of life and to do this type of show 33:43 It makes all the sense in the world that you wanted to let yourself go and just kind of feel 33:49 Um, so thank you for saying that for sure in terms of the Blake talking about the boat 33:55 It's kind of getting to the point, I'm a little exhausted. 33:59 I know. 33:59 Is that editing or was he just as obnoxious about pitching his life? 34:07 At first, I was like, what, handsome guy? 34:09 What sounds so fun? 34:11 And it almost feels like every scene that he's in, 34:15 he's talking about his lifestyle, 34:16 but maybe that's just like the show. 34:19 Yeah, I mean, as the time progresses, 34:22 it becomes like a bigger elephant in the room. 34:25 So, if you think it's a lot now, like it just, it's the gravity of the situation. 34:31 I do think we did talk more about compromise on camera than perhaps is shown, you know, 34:40 doing half the year in St. Thomas, doing, you know, three or four months in New England 34:45 in the summer. 34:46 Everyone loves a New England summer. 34:48 and then having a few like European vacations, 34:52 like I could see like a pathway to compromise. 34:55 There's ultimately actions that have to be taken 34:58 in a compromise, so talking about it and doing it 35:00 is like an entirely, you know, different situation, 35:03 but was he obnoxious about it? 35:06 I wouldn't say obnoxious personally, 35:08 but it was the elephant in the room for a very long time. 35:12 Yeah. 35:13 What was like your biggest fear about this, his career? 35:16 or was it him being gone for so long? 35:19 Was it him, like, you know, he kind of said, 35:21 like, there's children in strings. 35:23 Like, was that part of it, what was it? 35:26 Yeah, I think like, and I talk about this 35:28 when we're at my house, is like, 35:31 I would never ask Blake, like, bring your duffel bag, 35:35 drop it at the front door here, 35:36 and then you can never leave again. 35:38 Like, that to him is probably the most terrifying, 35:43 restrictive thing to hear. 35:44 And so for someone like me who loves routine, loves my career, has loved the life that I built 35:51 to say, okay, leave Connecticut and be 100% on a boat, which is so normal for him, is so radically 36:02 unknown to me. And so while on one end, living in Connecticut would feel like totally restrictive 36:08 of to Blake, me living on a boat would feel so untethered, right? 36:13 Like I've recreated myself post-divorce and created like relationships and systems and 36:19 things that helped me stay safe and confident and successful. 36:24 And so I think understanding the balance between the two, you know, you have to crawl, walk 36:32 and run, and it felt like mentally committing to 100% on a boat was going 36:37 street to sprint. That was scary in the moment, for sure. 36:43 Can I ask real quick, Erica, what would be the perfect compromise in your eyes? 36:47 The situation I described, I would totally subscribe to. Being on an island for a New 36:58 England winter to me is definitely something doable. I've always thought about a snowbird 37:04 lifestyle is what they call it in New England. I've actually done it myself. I've packed up 37:10 a bag and gone for the winter down to Savannah and lived on my own. That's where I'm from. Yeah? 37:17 Yeah. It's such a sweet, romantic, charming space. It really is. Oh, that's so sweet. 37:24 Yeah. And it's warm in the winter. But I've relocated before. I, you know, 37:30 After college, I moved to San Diego. 37:32 I lived there for 10 years on my own. 37:34 I came back, I relocated by myself across the country. 37:37 Like I'm not afraid to like go and explore. 37:41 It's just the risks I take are very calculated. 37:43 It's very methodical. 37:45 Like you're planning a move that's very systematic 37:47 and this not just reality TV perhaps in general, 37:51 but it's very overwhelming. 37:53 It's in your face, it's all consuming 37:55 and that can be pretty just overwhelming 37:58 to try to think about. 38:00 I mean, he also was like, no Amazon, 38:02 don't even think about if you need a tweezer, 38:05 you can't order it babe. 38:07 I have a question, 38:08 because we talked to Benita last week, I think, 38:10 and she mentioned something about him saying, 38:14 like, you know, I'd be away for six months, 38:16 or I forget how much the timeline was, 38:18 but we all in the room were kind of like, 38:20 wait, that feels different 38:21 than what he was saying to Erica. 38:23 As far as like, you can come with me, 38:25 can you clarify what the rules really are? 38:28 Can you go on the yacht with them or would you like how does that work? 38:31 I don't really know. I'm like it doesn't seem real that you could like just board the yacht with wherever on with whoever 38:37 Like owns the yacht. Yeah, so I think there's all different boats. There's all different circumstances 38:45 He's doing charters. He's doing transfers where you you know bring up a boat from point A to point B 38:51 He did tell me that there would be instances where I could just come aboard go for the journey 38:58 and some that I couldn't, which is totally fine. 39:01 But I think he committed a mix of those to me, 39:05 whereas it sounded like he might have told Benita no to all, 39:09 but I'm not really sure. 39:10 I only know my experience from it, yeah. 39:13 Gotcha. 39:13 How did it feel? 39:15 I mean, like obviously Benita and you both seem wonderful. 39:18 You also seem very different. 39:21 And obviously a lot of people are noticing that difference, 39:24 But listen, we all like different types of people. 39:28 Did you feel any certain type of way 39:30 once realizing A that Blake was also moving things along 39:35 with Benita and given that you guys' personality differences, 39:41 how much did that matter to you? 39:43 I think it's really interesting to watch it play back. 39:46 You kind of see a Neha spill my beans a little bit, 39:50 which I didn't know happened. 39:52 And so that was a very interesting scene to watch. 39:55 How'd you feel about that? 39:56 And they have, man. 39:57 I know, I was actually really disappointed 40:01 because it's my business. 40:05 And I was very intentionally guarded in the lounge. 40:09 I tried not to listen to the other women's stories, 40:13 perspectives, like I really wanted to create my own journey. 40:16 And I took it really seriously. 40:18 So I was a bit disappointed that she had done that. 40:21 and post that conversation, the tides in the lounge really did change. 40:28 It gets a little competitive. It gets a little exclusive. 40:33 Are you sitting with the same people, talking to the same people? 40:36 And that was kind of sad. It felt like maybe a little too high school for me. 40:42 But, you know, Benita at the end of the day is like a really great woman. 40:46 You know, her and I have had a chance to like connect, you know, post all of this filming 40:50 and she's a really awesome person and, you know, she's apologized. 40:56 She has said, you know, she wasn't sure what to do with all of these big feelings and 41:00 emotions and, you know, environment that she had never been exposed to before. 41:04 And obviously I can relate, I was there too. 41:08 So nothing but the best for Benita, but yeah, I mean, in the moment, like you're 41:12 trying to figure a lot out in a really short amount of time. 41:15 Well, watching it back, what about how you got to see how Blake talked about you versus 41:22 Benita almost in a sense where he was like, Benita is probably a rocket using his words 41:28 as to say you might not be. 41:30 How did you feel hearing that, Beck? 41:32 I mean, I was also really careful about not disclosing how I looked. 41:37 I really wanted to take it. 41:38 I'm a rule follower, obviously, and Benita did share a bit about what she looked like. 41:44 She cheated. 41:45 Blake asked me, like, well, I know what she looks like. 41:48 I want to know. 41:49 And I'm like, well, if you really want to know, then we'll see each other at some 41:53 review. 41:54 Benita was like, I'm 5'9". 41:56 I have dark hair. 41:58 Have you seen an Albanian woman before? 41:59 Yeah, pretty much like that, but like hot, you know? 42:03 Yeah. 42:04 But no, I held that close to the vest. 42:06 and I think we are both like pleasantly surprised, 42:09 which is a good thing. 42:10 For everyone wondering, 42:12 is a animal communicator worth the money? 42:15 Absolutely. 42:16 The DMs are overflowing with requests. 42:20 Please explain the process. 42:22 Yes, tell us everything. 42:24 She is a wonderful, wonderful human. 42:28 One thing that I've like done 42:29 over the course of a few years 42:30 is every time there's like a major life event happening, 42:33 I've called her to like share the details with the dogs 42:36 and kind of get their feedback on like what's about to come. 42:40 Aw, you're so sweet. 42:42 It's so cute. 42:45 What? 42:45 I've seen some amazing videos about this. 42:48 Like, I don't know if I believe it, 42:52 but I've seen some cool videos. 42:53 For the naysayers, the skeptics out there, 42:56 fuck them or like, what am I missing? 42:59 I've done a lot worse with like 60 bucks. 43:01 So, um, like, let's just figure it out, yeah. 43:06 Same. 43:07 And have they ever said, like, no, we don't want to move? 43:11 No, Blake. 43:11 Yes, Blake. 43:14 Um, no. 43:17 Like, when we're moving across the country, I wanted them to know, like, we're gonna 43:19 be in the car for 10 days. 43:21 You know, going through a divorce, now it's just me, like, you guys have to be really 43:23 good. 43:24 Like, are you okay? 43:25 Do you like the new house? 43:26 Like, what can I do to make you more comfortable? 43:29 And what have their answers been? 43:31 I'm hungry. They are they're always hungry. Yeah, like but I've asked them when we're traveling 43:39 You know Lily's a very anxious 43:41 Pup. She's you know, she's a street dog essentially 43:46 Ten days in the car is a lot for her. She's not like a big car gal 43:49 It's why I asked her like would you like medication to make it easier? 43:53 Like this is what it's gonna look like and she's like I'm gonna protect you 43:56 She's like, I'm gonna get all the, she said rats. 43:59 So I'm like, we're not staying in any hotel, honey, 44:02 with rats. 44:02 Like you don't have to put your guard down. 44:05 She's like, I've seen Lady and the Tram. 44:08 I've seen this film before. 44:09 I'm fascinated right now. 44:11 I need to meet this lady for my cats. 44:13 I'm also wondering though, like, you say you function off 44:17 like logic and reason, except for when it comes to, 44:20 not to say this is illogical, 44:22 but when it comes to the dogs, like, how do you know? 44:24 How do you know? 44:26 Well, that's maybe back to like falling a little bit, right? 44:29 Like you got to leave a little romance, 44:31 little room for like magic and- 44:33 A little whimsy, okay. 44:34 Yeah, come on. 44:35 I can't be like too buttoned up. 44:37 Oh my gosh, that's so fun. 44:40 I love that. 44:42 And at any point, if this person was like, 44:46 your dog wants you to bet $10,000 on the Yankees, 44:50 and then you did, and then you lost like, 44:53 It's like, is it all on you? 44:54 Like, is this woman have no responsibility 44:56 for the message that she is sharing? 44:58 I'm still in control. 45:00 You know? 45:01 So like, you can disagree with the pets. 45:02 You're just like, you know what? 45:04 Not today. 45:04 Like they're your kids. 45:06 Yeah. 45:06 Like no popsicles today. 45:08 No rats. 45:09 No rats. 45:10 No rats today. 45:11 Don't knock it till you try it. 45:13 Yeah. 45:14 I am carrot and this, 45:15 I know you have to get going. 45:16 I really appreciate you taking the time, Erica. 45:18 Back to a little bit more, not serious, 45:20 but like you are open about obviously 45:22 having, being divorced, and I'm just curious, you know, 45:26 obviously moving on from divorce is always a challenge 45:29 for anyone, but like what has been able to come 45:32 on the show, love is blind, what was that like, 45:35 having gone through a divorce, and was it in any way 45:38 helpful or therapeutic to do it? 45:41 Yeah, I think at first like post-divorce, 45:46 like it's new waters to navigate, 45:49 and like you're not really sure how like 45:50 the dating community is gonna receive that. 45:54 I kind of thought that it was gonna be like a black mark, 45:57 sort of speak, on my dating resume. 46:00 Like, okay, so like you just didn't make it work 46:02 or like what happened? 46:03 There's all these questions. 46:05 And one thing that I sort of like 46:06 started to get a little bit more comfortable with 46:08 is that it might actually be a leg up, right? 46:11 Like I've met someone in the past 46:15 that I thought was worth the commitment. 46:17 It takes strength to realize 46:19 that perhaps that's not the case. 46:20 It takes strength to walk away. 46:22 It takes strength to rebuild and I think like it's it's made me who I am today. I think it works in my favor a bit 46:30 Yeah, like Nick and Vanessa kind of say that when we're all in the lounge, you know prepared to go in is like 46:37 In the real world dating like when do you bring it up? You know date five date six, but in the pods 46:43 It's like day one like pull the band-aid off like this is it, you know 46:48 And it did give me more confidence to speak about it a bit earlier in the process. 46:53 That's great. 46:54 Well, I don't know if you and Blake end up together. 46:57 But I do have to say at, I think when y'all were in Mexico and he was talking to all 47:02 the other guys and the way he spoke about you group of women like made me feel so proud 47:08 that he was your partner. 47:09 The way he just was like, we all got Jimstone women. 47:12 Like these are, this is a great group. 47:14 Like we really all knocked it out of the park. 47:15 I just think that like shows to his character and it does seem like you really did find a really great connection 47:21 And I do hope that you'll hopefully hopefully he doesn't disappoint us. I know you're gonna say that 47:26 episodes will come out and he'll be like I 47:29 Hope not fingers crossed. He's on his best behavior. Oh, I know the teaser. He's like, okay 47:35 He's got a little to go sassy. The teaser is teasing for sure 47:40 Um, but yeah, like those little moments that are captured that I wasn't a part of and you get to watch them replay 47:46 Like I don't know. It's just all part of the DNA of it 47:50 It was really gratifying to hear and he is not wrong the group of women on the show is 47:55 Next level the highest caliber, you know lawyers orthodontist 48:02 VPs like you name it. We have it on the show and I'm really proud to be part of such in a group of incredible women 48:07 Oh, that's awesome 48:10 Well, Erica, I appreciate you taking the time best to lock the rest away. 48:14 We're very excited to see how it all unfolds, 48:16 but really appreciate you sharing a little bit about your journey with us today. 48:19 So good to see you all. Yeah, it's so crazy. It's like they tell you, okay, you got to go quick, 52:07 quick, slow. And then I was doing it and now I was looking down and Whitney goes, no, 52:12 you got to look up. There's going to be cameras everywhere. You got to smile, 52:17 Oh, you got to be happy enjoying everything. I'm like, wow, I got to count the steps 52:21 I got to look happy enjoy. It's hard and then I have to move my body. It's real hard 52:26 It's one of the hardest thing I've ever done in my life a lot of moving parts 52:31 Who was whose idea was it for you to go on dancing with the stars? 52:35 Was it was it Jimmy's or did like someone in ABC your wife's did you want to do it? 52:39 You know what they asked me like like three 52:42 three years ago they've been asking me for three or four years and I always say 52:46 no it's a lot of work when I see them it's a lot of work and this time I was 52:50 like Jimmy say I think you should do it and then I talked to my wife I said what 52:55 do you think I say listen you just do it it might help you to lose weight she 53:01 goes it might help you to lose weight and also you can teach me how to dance 53:05 and I go you know what you know what let's do it I'm not gonna lose 53:08 anything and I thought that I will be gone on the first week. I say one week is enough for me 53:13 and that rehearsal you did it before rehearsal takes three hours four hours it's a lot of work 53:19 you don't have life you got it's a commitment you know it's it's crazy but but I had a lot of fun 53:25 it was great it was good that's awesome man that's awesome uh you have such a fascinating 53:30 story I mean you're just we see you on billboards next to Jimmy you know you are you've become 53:36 the one of the faces of Jimmy Kimmel Live. And it's such an incredible story. I know a lot of 53:41 people are familiar with the fact that you were a part-time security guard for Jimmy. 53:46 For the people who haven't heard, how did this all happen? You've become a comedic genius. 53:53 We love you. You're a household name, but you also come from a past where 53:58 it sounds like this wasn't in the plans for you. 54:02 You know what not at all. I think I was I've been a bless and he was lucky and it was a good time 54:08 You know, I was I was in the parking lot one day. It was raining and I was I told the announcer 54:15 Dickie I said dickie. Can I stay in your car? 54:18 It was leaking and the guard check in the little office. It was leaking 54:21 So I stay in the car and I fall asleep and then he told Jimmy and Jimmy the next the next day 54:28 I guess Jimmy told the writers and everything I want to put him in the show 54:32 And then the writer said yeah, he's funny. He's good. He's a nice guy 54:35 And then I never thought I was gonna be in TV and everything and then I did my first bit 54:41 I was like I was so nervous and then I did the second one and the third one and then after they asked me like 54:47 Listen, you should be working for us and everything. I was like, oh my god 54:52 It's alright. I was like wow 54:54 This is a dream come true like this is this you know is never happened all the time 54:59 I go like this is like in the movie, you know what and I'm blessed and I think God that I took the job 55:05 You know, it was it was real good. It's awesome 55:08 When did it when did it like click for you that like I don't know if you ever felt like imposter syndrome or anything 55:14 But like when did you feel like wow like I'm kind of cozy in this space now 55:19 Like I'm secure with this career that I've kind of just like fell in my lap almost 55:24 you know what the first year like in 2003 I think I got comfortable like in 55:29 December when I was like wow you know what I can do this I'm happy I'm 55:35 enjoying it I'm making good money I like I can buy good presents from my 55:39 family for my mom my wife my you know like I think I think I like it it's 55:46 good in everything you know when I check cleared yeah when I was like wow 55:49 this check is good and everything is good and the best thing is like a lot of 55:54 people make fun of me because I go like before I start working on the show I I 55:59 swear God this is a true story I didn't know what was a gluten-free organic all 56:05 the things I didn't know that and now like everyone in the show like I don't 56:10 know if I'm allowed to say this but I'm wondering I think I'm the only 56:14 Hispanic in the show and like 220 people and everyone's like oh yeah let's go get 56:20 up let's go go get a green juice let's go get a let's go get a like let's go get 56:26 grab lunch oh yeah and they're like counting the calories and they're like 56:30 oh yeah oh yeah look this bread is gluten-free and I'm like what the hell 56:35 is gluten-free have they put you on a Pilates yet and matcha I don't know 56:41 Everybody's saying, you should do pilates, dude. 56:44 I go like, dude, it's real hard. 56:47 I see people are like, you gotta be flexible. 56:49 You gotta be in good shape to do it. 56:52 And Marsha, my wife drinks Marsha. 56:55 I haven't tried it, but now, you know what's so funny? 56:58 Now, when I go get a drink, this is crazy. 57:01 I go like, yeah, can I have a chai latte 57:04 with soy milk please? 57:05 I'm like, what the hell? 57:07 Like, I used to drink black coffee 57:09 And I was like, I'm drinking a chai latte with soy milk. 57:13 With soy milk, I was like, oh, what the hell is that? 57:16 He's dairy-free. 57:18 Yeah, but I was like, it's a blessing. 57:21 And I was like, oh, my God, thank God, it's good. 57:25 It's thank God, you know? 57:27 What was that conversation like with your wife 57:30 when you first told her? 57:31 Oh, you know what? 57:33 OK, so when I told my wife, I say, honey, 57:36 I still remember. 57:37 That's a good question. 57:37 I still remember and I say honey, you know what they offer me this be the job 57:41 In the show and everything and she goes. Oh 57:45 What do you think I say I want I want to do it and she goes, but are you sure you're gonna be good? 57:51 Are you sure like, you know, like look at you. You're like overweight. You know what I mean? 57:58 You're a little bit overweight. Maybe they're looking for like I go like I know you funny and everything. I said honey 58:06 listen I'm gonna do it I don't lose I don't lose anything I do it and it 58:12 doesn't work I get paid and that's it and I have no brainer yeah and then but 58:17 then my wife when I she started like like seeing I go like oh wow this is 58:23 good to you do you are gray I say yeah thank God yeah and then when I start 58:29 like okay listen now we're gonna go now we're gonna go get a manicure and a 58:34 pedicure together, and I'm like, oh my God. 58:37 There's got to be parts of it you're starting to enjoy, 58:39 though, those little, I don't know, the finer things, 58:42 or I don't know, those little bougie things. 58:44 I started liking it, too. 58:45 Yeah, and what ways of working for Jimmy 58:47 made you a little LA soft in ways that maybe you weren't 58:51 before? 58:52 You know what, the first time we 58:54 went to go get a manicure, pedicure together, 58:56 I was like, wow. 58:58 I was like, hey, my toes never looked this good 59:01 before in my nails. 59:03 And I and and the lady goes do you want coloring your nails and I go like what I see you want 59:08 You know like Brian like to try you know like a little bit. I like and my wife say yeah, do it 59:13 I say okay. I do it. I'm like, hey, I like this life. It's getting comfortable in like in pepper 59:17 Yeah, I like you're getting pumpering. You're tired. I'm like, oh you're relaxed 59:21 And then and then like a week after my wife said we should go get a massage a what a massage 59:27 I was like, oh, wow. This is awesome. No, it's been it's been great 59:31 You know thank God it's been great now like we need to watch movies on like on cable and like cable 59:37 I was like wow on pay-per-view on the man. I was like wow, this is awesome. This is great 59:44 Yeah, this is fantastic 59:46 Yerma you mentioned before 59:48 When you left dancing with the stars that had you made it to dedication that you would have 59:53 Dedicated that night to Jimmy that would have been obviously fun to see and I'm sure you guys would have made us laugh 59:58 while also like tearing on her heartstrings. 60:01 But I'm just curious, like just what has it meant to you 60:04 that, you know, Jimmy gave you this opportunity 60:06 and you guys obviously have become close over the years, 60:09 not only colleagues, but friends. 60:11 I had, you know, long time ago, 60:13 I had a brief moment with Jimmy 60:14 when I did a bit with him for ABC The Bachelor 60:17 and he was more than anyone I met in that experience, 60:19 he like took me aside and really made me feel like 60:23 a person because he was just trying to give me, 60:25 He was like, and he like took my mic off. 60:28 And he's like, you don't have to get married, you know? 60:30 He was like telling me like, 60:31 you like don't let Hollywood ruin your life. 60:34 And, you know, at the time I was thinking, I know, 60:36 I know Jimmy, but he didn't know who I was 60:38 and he knew the pressures. 60:39 And it was just so obvious 60:41 that he just cared about me as a human being 60:43 and he had never met me. 60:44 Anyways, I'm just curious like, 60:46 obviously I'm sure you've felt that effects 60:48 of Jimmy over the years. 60:49 And could you just speak on your relationship 60:51 that you've developed with him? 60:52 You know what, Jimmy is the best. He always like, if I have questions as Jimmy in everything, he's always told me, you know, like, be, be, stay the way you are, be humble, be nice, you know, be, respect people and everything, and always be like, be thankful, you know, always, you're 61:12 blessed, so, you know, always be nice with people and, and he's great, he's fantastic. 61:18 And about the dedication, I was like, yeah, you know what, if I pass next week, one of his favorite musicians is Hugh Lewis in the News. 61:29 And I said, oh, yeah, if we pass, we're going to dance Tango, and we are going to dedicate it to Jimmy. 61:35 And I told Whitney, I said, and we should dance The Power of Love with Hugh Lewis in the News as The Power of Love. 61:44 that's good and I was like when they announced the couple that is going home 61:48 and they announced my name like oh my god I felt like oh my god I felt bad you 61:53 know but talk to Jimmy and she said I'm proud of you you did it you did a good 61:56 job you make so many people happy so many people was like watching the show 62:02 to see you and everything and you just being yourself makes a lot of people 62:06 great. Can I can I pitch you an idea to pitch to Jimmy? Yeah. Not that like 62:11 if they need any ideas. 62:13 But what if you and Whitney on an upcoming episode 62:17 of Jimmy Kimmel Live, you do your dedication, 62:21 you dance for Jimmy to the power of love. 62:24 Maybe even Huey Lewis can come out and do a cameo. 62:28 You know what, I'm gonna tell them, 62:31 let's say listen, I'm gonna tell them 62:33 that you told me that idea in everything 62:35 and hopefully we do it and we do it. 62:38 We're gonna give you credit for that. 62:40 I don't even need the credit, but I think it would be hilarious and I think Whitney would be amazing. 62:44 Whitney, obviously, we love her. We've had her on the show before. She's such a delight. 62:48 What was it like to dance with Whitney through this experience? 62:50 You know what? Whitney was great because when I met her, we were practicing dancing everything and she just looked at me and I said, 62:57 Whitney, I know what you're thinking. I know. It's going to take a lot of work. 63:02 It's going to be hard, but it's going to be a lot of work. 63:04 And then after like a couple days three days. She told me listen you rehearsals you practicing everything made me 63:10 Laughs every time we rehearse so we practice, you know, it's it's fun doing dancing with you 63:16 You know, it's fun. It's great. You know what I mean? I like thank you when they like I'm trying my best to learn 63:21 But she was great. She's fantastic. I 63:24 Saw you got her she posted like the gift that you got her post dancing 63:29 Sing, who helped you pick that out, or did you do it all by yourself? 63:32 That was my wife, because my wife said, you know what, I got to pick a gift for her because 63:39 she's been so nice, and she was the perfect partner that I could have because she put 63:45 everything together, like we dance the Pina Colada, and she said, what do you want to 63:50 write? 63:50 And you belly, and I said, well, I'm dancing for the people, you know what I mean? 63:53 Let's do it. 63:54 With coconuts. 63:55 Yeah, the coconuts. 63:56 Yeah, that was her idea. 63:58 And I go like that was our idea and I go came and I put in my belly dancing for the people go 64:02 Yeah, sure. That's that's great. So she was she was she was fantastic 64:08 Are you aware like it seems like you are like you're 64:12 Conchages of like your we call it aura like are you aware of that? 64:16 Like I remember even just being in the room with you the first 64:19 Whatever those weeks where that we got to interview the the stars of the show and like you have a gravity to you 64:26 Are you aware of that, like when you walk around rooms? 64:28 I realize that, like, wherever I go, like, 64:32 people, like, I just say, 64:34 hi, guys, and everybody, hey, how you doing, Guillermo? 64:37 You know, like, because I just been myself, you know? 64:40 Like, you know, I've been nice with everybody, 64:42 talking everything, and people love to be around me 64:45 and everything, and I've been getting a lot of texts. 64:48 Like, I got a text from Connor, Estra, 64:51 and Harry, Tyler, he told me, 64:53 Dude dancing with the story is not the same without you. We miss you 64:58 Let's have let's do lunch together. And I think we're gonna do I think we're gonna have lunch this weekend. That's awesome 65:04 Yeah, it's so fun. You also launched your own salsa brand Guillermo salsa. What made you want to do that? 65:10 Salsa is simple, you know, it's nothing too hard like for business 65:14 Something it's easy also to put to selling in the stores and everything and I say, you know what this salsa 65:20 it can be a good business when I pass away, 65:25 this business can be for my son and my wife, you know? 65:28 And so far, Guillermo Salsa is the best. 65:31 You can buy it, you can try it, it's so good. 65:34 It's spicy, how spicy? 65:35 Well, we have a median, mild, and spicy. 65:39 That's what I'm talking about. 65:40 Yeah, we have it. 65:41 So in case, you know, like, in case some people 65:43 don't eat spicy, you know, like, you know? 65:46 And you have an arrow in there? 65:47 Yeah, we put up an arrow there. 65:48 Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. 65:49 Yeah, we put up an arrow and it's good, it's real good, you guys should try it. 65:55 Was it intentionally to be like a pun with the dance with the stars, like the salsa 65:58 dance? 65:59 You know what, that one just hit the spot because when they told me, oh, we launched 66:05 the salsa in January and everything and when they told me, oh, you want to do dancing 66:10 with the stars? 66:11 And I'm like, you know what, all right, this time I do it and then with the salsa 66:14 and everybody's like, oh, Guillermo Salsa. 66:17 You got to dance salsa in Dancing with the Stars, 66:20 and you talk about your own salsa, too. 66:23 It makes sense, like the salsa, the salsa pairing. 66:28 Yeah. 66:28 I was at a restaurant in LA called Taco Lena last night. 66:31 Oh, yeah. 66:32 It was my first tacos in LA as an LA resident. 66:34 Do you have any, like, local spots I need to hit? 66:36 Oh, you know what? 66:37 I heard the Mexican food out here is crazy. 66:38 I go to Casa Vega, they have great margaritas, too. 66:41 Okay, word, okay, word. 66:42 What's the Mexican restaurant we were like next to? 66:45 Casa Vega, he was just talking about that. 66:47 No, Casa Vega, but the one on Beverly, 66:50 it's right by we're dancing with a star. 66:51 Escuela. 66:52 Escuela. 66:52 You into Escuela? 66:53 Oh yeah, Escuela is good too, yeah. 66:55 It's real good. 66:57 Why are the margaritas good? 66:58 Is there like a lot of tequila in it or? 67:00 They do have a lot of tequilas 67:01 and they make mango margaritas, strawberry, 67:06 any kind of margaritas you want, oh my God. 67:09 They are. 67:09 You like mezcal? 67:10 Yeah. 67:10 I like mezcal too. 67:12 You like the, what's it, a carajillo? 67:15 Carajillo, yeah. 67:16 Yeah. 67:16 That was my favorite. 67:17 Oh, carajillo, yeah. 67:18 Oh, my gosh. 67:19 Every time we go out for dinner with the family, my wife order a carajillo, and she goes, 67:24 you want to try it, and it's so good. 67:25 They're the best. 67:26 Oh, my goodness. 67:27 It's like a Martina Espresso, you know? 67:29 Yeah, it's like an Espresso Martini, but if it was born in Mexico. 67:31 Yeah. 67:32 Guillermo, what was your favorite dance that you did during your time on Dancing 67:37 with the stars oh boy i think my favorite was the the pinia colada when i that one that was great 67:47 that was like i think that was my favorite one that was good when i i think i did real good and i 67:53 show i show everybody who i'm dancing for and dancing for the people and now that one i nailed 68:00 it I did I did good also the last one to salsa the last one when I they sent me 68:07 home that was real good too that one I I now that I didn't have a I didn't have a 68:12 hard time learning but the samba was hard samba was real hard you you talk a 68:18 lot about how you're dancing for the people what do you hope the people 68:20 take away from watching you dance when I dance I say so people can see that 68:25 that it's not, of course, you got to take it serious, 68:29 but also you got to have fun with it 68:31 and you got to enjoy, you know what I mean? 68:33 It's like you drop. 68:34 Like if you have a drop, you have an interview, 68:37 you got to love doing this, you know what I mean? 68:39 And that's what I like. 68:40 You know what? 68:41 I'm going to go and of course, 68:42 I got to smile, throw kiss to the audience, 68:45 you know, going like this and everything. 68:47 And the people were like, they were amazing. 68:49 They felt like that I was trying hard. 68:52 I was maybe not the best dancer, 68:53 but I was trying hard, and I was doing my best. 68:56 You clearly had to step outside of your comfort zone 68:59 and expose yourself to a new art form 69:03 that could be kind of vulnerable. 69:05 So as a fan just watching, it's inspiring. 69:09 It's encouraging to want to just take that risk. 69:11 And like you said when I interviewed you, just do it. 69:14 You know what, just do it. 69:16 I would like, it's hard because every part of my body hurt. 69:20 you know it was it was crazy that my legs my shoulder my back but but I you know 69:28 what I did it I have fun I'm glad I say you know what I'm glad I did it and if 69:33 they want me to they want me like to go back and do something for them and 69:37 everything I was like yeah sure I'll do it you know what I mean yeah you got to 69:40 yeah so I became familiar with you I came up as a basketball player I 69:44 played Ohio State played professionally overseas and you went viral in the 69:50 basketball community when you started chasing 69:51 around LeBron at NBA All-Star. 69:54 Oh my God, you know what? 69:56 The first time LeBron James made it to the final, 70:00 I wanted to talk to him, you know? 70:02 I would say, hey, LeBron, how are you? 70:04 How you doing? 70:05 Can I talk to you? 70:06 Can I interview you? 70:07 And he'd look at me and go, no man, 70:08 you're gonna make fun of me. 70:09 I say, I'm not gonna make fun of you. 70:11 I just, I'm gonna ask you a couple of questions, 70:13 you know what I mean? 70:14 Like. 70:15 He was like avoiding you. 70:16 Yeah, he was avoiding me. 70:17 Until now, he doesn't talk to me, you know. 70:21 No, why does he not talk to you? 70:23 He goes, listen, you know, oh, you're going to make fun of me, man. 70:27 LeBron, I'm just going to ask you a question. 70:29 But what is the question? 70:30 I say, LeBron, when you take a shower, do you wash your legs? 70:36 I like, you know what I mean? 70:40 Yeah, I mean, maybe he doesn't want to be asked 70:42 about if he washes his legs or not. 70:44 Yeah, you've obviously like, you know, your stories are great 70:47 Cause you come from these humble beginnings, but like as far as your job, 70:50 you get to hang out and engage with some of the biggest celebrities in the world. 70:54 You've had Taylor Swift stroke your mustache. 70:56 You've got some kiss, Megan Fox and Andy Garcia. 71:00 Like it was your doppelganger when it was the I hate Jamie Kimmel episode, 71:03 which is Andy Garcia, a very handsome man was playing you. 71:08 What has been some of the like the cooler moments 71:11 that you've had to experience that like you're like, I can't believe I'm doing this. 71:15 You know what? I love sports. So when I met Kobe Bryant and I was like, I was like, uh, it was that NBA media day was the finals and they closed. They were done. 71:30 But Kobe Bryant was over there. I say, Hey, Kobe's over there. We miss Kobe. He goes, Oh, no, he was busy doing interviews. 71:36 and I say Kobe how you doing and and and his bodyguards told me he's done he's 71:42 done dude we're finished and Kobe Bryant said yeah Guillermo come over here let 71:46 him through I want to talk to him and I say Kobe I love you man I say I he was 71:51 so nice Kobe Bryant was so nice the same thing when I met Tom Brady when I 71:55 met Tom Brady I was like oh my god the goat I like Tom Brady oh my god 71:59 you're the best Tom Brady we follow you and everyone like he's not gonna 72:03 I talked to you, Guillermo, what's going on? 72:06 And then I had a pillow, I make up like this one, look. 72:10 But I had his face here and my face here. 72:14 So I said, Tom, can you sign my pillow please? 72:17 And he signed it, and he goes, what do you want me to put? 72:19 I said, love for Guillermo, I said, love for Guillermo. 72:22 And I told him, Tom Brady, now I can go to bed 72:24 with you every night. 72:28 And it was nice too. 72:30 And also meeting Charlize Taren when we do the red carpet at the Oscars and she gave me a kiss 72:36 I was like, oh my god. She's so nice. She's so sweet. Did your wife get jealous though? No 72:41 My wife like I told her listen honey, if I'm gonna I'm gonna be if I'm gonna cheat on you 72:49 It will be with Charlize Taren 72:52 That's your hall pass.
