New Jersey finally has a veterinary school, and Paul Alves is in its first class. In this episode of The Vet Blast Podcast presented by dvm360, Paul Alvez, a member Rowan University's Shreiber School of Veterinary first cohort of students, and dvm360 student ambassador, joins host Adam Christman, DVM, MBA, to talk about what it's like to build a school's culture from scratch.

Alves walks through Rowan's block-based curriculum and integrated exams, describes which services have opened so far at the veterinary teaching hospital, and explains why the community engagement club he leads teaches social media etiquette alongside shelter medicine and clinical skills — plus his advice to the profession: own your silly.
