423: Bringing Leptospirosis back to the basics

On this episode of The Vet Blast Podcast, host Adam Christman, DVM, MBA, sits down with Robert Armentano, DVM, DACVIM (SAIM), from the Veterinary Specialty Center in Bannockburn, Illinois, to get back to basics on lepto. They cover why the disease's epidemiology has shifted toward smaller dogs and urban areas, why the lepto vaccine's old reputation for reactions no longer holds up, and the biggest misconceptions still floating around the profession, including the belief that a negative snap test rules out infection and that a clinically improved dog is no longer shedding the organism.
