Miss! Miss!

From The Totally Football Show with James Richardson The Athletic

The opening weekend of the new Premier League season doesn’t disappoint. Drinking it in with Jimbo are Carl Anka, Sasha Goryunov and Daniel Storey.

Tottenham defeat champions Man City in a dream start for Nuno in North London. Will that inspire City to go and get Harry Kane? Or should they be spending that money on a left-back and a defensive midfielder?

Manchester United thrash Leeds 5-1. Imagine how good they’ll be once they put Sancho and Varane in that team. And Brentford provide the feel-good story of the weekend.

Elsewhere where is the Arsenal leadership? Can Villa create a whole new attack without Grealish? Will Everton fans learn to love resilient Rafa?

Plus we pay tribute to the goal-hanger’s goal-hanger Gerd Muller. And Sasha bemoans the state of Russian football.
