Wimbledon Day 5 - Watson’s Wimbledon Heartbreak As Serena Escapes; Venus Next; Dimitrov Downed; Kyrgios Moves On

After Heather Watson’s riveting, pulsating battle with Serena Williams, David Law (BBC Radio 5 Live) swapped the commentary box for the Tennis Podcast microphone to talk to Catherine Whitaker and the Telegraph’s Charlie Eccleshare about an incredible day at Wimbledon. David lets us know what Watson’s crestfallen coach Diego Veronelli and GB Fed Cup captain Judy Murray said to hin on 5 Live straight afterwards, and Catherine relays everything seven-time Grand Slam champion Mats Wilander, who she watched it with, said to about the match. The Venus vs. Serena Williams clash is previewed, the loss of Grigor Dimitrov and the win for Nick Kyrgios discussed, and the podcast team look ahead to Saturday while asking ‘is the all-white rule too strict?' The Tennis Podcast is produced in association with the Telegraph, and supported by BNP Paribas, the bank for a changing world.
