Wimbledon Day 1 - Marcus Willis Wonderland; Federer Next

Marcus Willis - British No.23, World No.772 and winner of $64 so far in 2016, faces one of the greatest tennis players ever to pick up a racquet - Roger Federer - in the second round of Wimbledon, and The Tennis Podcast team couldn’t wait to talk about it.

Gigi Salmon tells us what it was like to be in amongst the Court 17 crowd, describing the Willis victory scenes for BBC Radio 5 Live.

Annabel Croft drops by to share the stories she’s heard about Willis, and to reveal that Garbine Muguruza is a heck of a cook.

And presenters David Law and Catherine Whitaker review the rest of eventful opening day in which James Ward performed creditably against Novak Djokovic, Dan Evans won well, and Federer found a way past Guido Pella, eventually.

The team also preview day 2 at Wimbledon, when Andy Murray will face Liam Broady, Serena Williams makes her bow, and an ‘aggro-fest’ is expected between Nick Kyrgios and Radek Stepanek.
