US Open Day 9 - Comeback Queen

Catherine Whitaker, David Law and Matt Roberts recap another day of US Open which was headlined by Zheng Qinwen once again coming back to win a set from 0-5 down, this time en route to knocking out Iga Swiatek.

Part one - We discuss the extraordinary Zheng comeback, why it’s so special to see her back in the latter stages of a Grand Slam, and her prospects in the next round against Elena Rybakina. The Kazakh is now just win one away from becoming World No.1 after a flawless display to defeat Naomi Osaka. How did Osaka and Swiatek process their defeats? We also chat about wins for both Coco Gauff and Mirra Andreeva who set up a quarter-final clash.

Part two (37:25) - On the men’s side, we cover Alexander Zverev finding form and avoiding another really late finish, five set wins for both Botic van de Zandschulp and Karen Khachanov, and a big injury concern for Alexander Blockx despite his victory.

Part three (51:55) - Previewing and predicting Tuesday’s quarter-finals. Can either Linda Noskova or Ben Shelton defeat Aryna Sabalenka or Carlos Alcaraz? And how will Frances Tiafoe and Alex Michelsen handle the Arthur Ashe stage?
