Brief: Will diplomacy work between US and Iran before elections?

This week: 387 days after the declaration of a ceasefire in Gaza, Israel has killed at least 1,580 Palestinians there. Mediators were hoping to restart talks between the US and Iran before Tuesday's midterm elections in the US. Israel continued striking Gaza Israeli elections favored right-wing parties. Israel has killed at least 74,570 Palestinians in Gaza since October 7, 2023.
