Dr. Cesar Garbossa: Optimizing Sow Farrowing | Ep. 137

In this episode of The Swine Nutrition Blackbelt Podcast, Dr. Cesar Garbossa, from the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil, discusses the critical role of sow farrowing kinetics. Dr. Garbossa explains how optimizing blood glucose can improve farrowing performance and piglet vitality. He also explores strategies, including energy supplements and nesting materials, to enhance swine production. Tune in to gain actionable insights into improving farrowing efficiency and piglet outcomes.

"During farrowing, the sow undergoes a process as demanding as a marathon, requiring substantial energy. Providing the correct glucose levels ensures effective muscle contractions, allowing the farrowing kinetics to proceed efficiently."
