Penguins Sell for $1.7 Billion ft. Greg Wyshynski & Justin Teitelbaum

From The Sheet with Jeff Marek The Nation Network

Jeff Marek and Greg Wyshynski break down another busy day around the NHL on today’s episode of The Sheet, starting with the blockbuster news that the Pittsburgh Penguins have been sold at a reported $1.7 billion valuation — a franchise-altering moment with ripple effects across the league. The guys also dig into Mitch Marner’s controversial goal-that-wasn’t in last night’s shootout, the constant shuffle happening in the NHL standings, and what it all says about parity this season. Plus, the New Jersey Devils add John MacLean as the fourth member of their Ring of Honor, and Jeff and Greg take a look at what fans can expect from this year’s Winter Classic. Later, Forbes contributor Justin Teitelbaum joins the show to unpack his latest NHL franchise valuations article and go deeper on what the Penguins sale means for ownership, league economics, and future expansion conversations.
