Today, Bomani and Godfrey explain why a proposed $20 million compensation cap could benefit athletic departments while limiting what athletes can earn. They also examine Nick Saban’s advocacy for greater control, Ted Cruz’s appearance on College GameDay and the conflict between ESPN’s role as a media company and its enormous financial stake in college football.

Then, the conversation turns to Lane Kiffin’s return to Oxford as LSU faces Ole Miss. Bomani and Godfrey break down Kiffin’s departure, Pete Golding’s unexpected opportunity, Trinidad Chambliss’ rise and why LSU–Ole Miss could become college football’s messiest revenge game.
