Join Roxy Striar and Tara Erickson as they dive into the twisted, time-bending world of Blumhouse’s 2017 dark comedy slasher, Happy Death Day. In this genre-defying film, Jessica Rothe (La La Land, Boy Kills World) delivers a standout performance as Tree Gelbman—a college student trapped in a time loop where she relives the day of her murder over and over again. Each reset forces Tree to confront her past mistakes, unravel the mystery behind her untimely death, and discover unexpected moments of humor amid the terror. Jessica Rothe captivates as Tree, blending vulnerability with fierce determination. Under the direction of Christopher Landon (Freaky, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones), the film masterfully balances spine-tingling suspense with laugh-out-loud moments. Roxy & Tara break down every iconic scene—from the nerve-wracking murder sequences (Driven to Murder Scene, Locker Room Attack Scene, Back in the Loop Scene, Welcome to the Pleasure Dome, & beyond!) to the clever, self-aware twists that set this film apart from traditional slasher fare.
