PDB Afternoon Bulletin | October 12th, 2026: Iran's Leadership Crisis Is Getting Worse & Trump's Ukraine Ceasefire Falls Apart

In this episode of The PDB Afternoon Bulletin:

• Iran's top security officials and diplomats are sending contradictory messages about negotiations with Washington, raising fresh questions about who's actually running the country. With Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei still out of public view, uncertainty is growing over whether anyone in Tehran has the authority to negotiate and enforce an agreement to end the war.

• President Trump announces an immediate energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, but neither Moscow nor Kyiv has agreed to the deal. The announcement comes as Washington pressures Ukraine to halt attacks on Russian oil refineries, raising questions about what concessions Kyiv would be expected to make.
