#PenumbraParty: We need your help (not $$) to keep the lights on!

#PenumbraParty

To keep the show running, we need your help!

In lieu of our yearly Patreon funds drive, we're excited to launch an initiative so all our fans can support us in making The Penumbra Podcast possible -- even if you can't spend money on Patreon or merch right now. By promoting the show, you’ll also unlock awesome prizes for all Penumbra fans.

We're challenging fans to spread the word about our show on Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook or Instagram in one of three ways:

1. Leave us a review on iTunes. Make sure to take a screenshot of the review before you submit it (iTunes likes to eat reviews sometimes, but we won’t hold that against you!) and post that screenshot to your social media using #PenumbraParty and #ThePenumbraPodcast.

2. Make a social media post using #PenumbraParty and #ThePenumbraPodcast about why you love the podcast, your favorite characters or your favorite episode. If we see something super creative, you might get a shout-out in the credits of an upcoming episode!

3. Host a listening party (in person or virtually) with at least one person who has never heard the show before. Post a picture/screenshot of the party (a text thread or Discord counts!) to your social media using #PenumbraParty and #ThePenumbraPodcast.

It’s helpful if you tag us on social media, too—and yes, you can make multiple entries!

Post before 11:59 PM EST on February 10 to unlock awesome bonus content and prizes. The more tasks you do, the better chance you’ll have at winning THE GRAND PRIZE.

What can you win?

At 200 entries, EVERYONE gets access to all blooper tracks that we’ve released on Patreon.

At 500 entries, EVERYONE gets the Season 2 Live Q&A video.

At 1,000 entries, EVERYONE gets a full Juno Steel Mystery in found texts (aka The Case Files of Juno Steel).

These prizes will all become available at patreon.com/thepenumbrapodcast, but you will NOT need to be a Patreon supporter to view them.

THE GRAND PRIZE: One lucky participant will be selected to receive FREE early access to episodes for the rest of Season 4!

We can’t wait to see you at #PenumbraParty. Thank you so much to everyone who supports the show!

Note: We know that even though we said “this is not a guilt trip,” some of you are probably going to feel like you need to rush to the Patreon. We really appreciate your kindness, but unless you genuinely think you have the funds to continue supporting us for the foreseeable future, we ask that you not do that; though we understand this is very well-intentioned, it actually hurts us when people pledge to the Patreon and then drop their pledges soon after. The Patreon is our only way to plan ahead for our expenses and income, and if it’s artificially inflated we could end up in the hole. If you’d like to donate just once, we ask that you please use https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/thepenumbrapodcast

For early and ad-free episodes, production scripts, commentary tracks, blooper reels, livestreams with the creators, and much more, you can find The Penumbra Podcast: SPECIAL EDITION at: https://thepenumbrapodcast.supercast.com(In old episodes, you will often hear us mention Patreon, which was our old platform and is no longer live. Please feel free to ignore!)

For tickets to our live reading of If Memory Serves: A Juno Steel Mystery on November 21, 2026, visit: https://therockwell.org/calendar/the-penumbra-podcast/ Join us at The Rockwell, home of our first two live shows, in Somerville, MA, for Joshua Ilon's one-night-only reading of an excerpt from our Juno prequel novel to be followed by a Q&A with Harley and Kevin. We can't wait to see you there to celebrate the release of the full audiobook!

We are also currently running a subscription sale on our Supercast and Patreon subscriber platforms to celebrate the conclusion of our first full season of Thirst. Visit https://thepenumbrapodcast.supercast.com/ or patreon.com/thepenumbrapodcast to get 28% off all tiers!
