The Patrick Madrid Show: November 13, 2023 - Hour 2

We start this hour off by addressing listener feedback, where Elizabeth expresses her gratitude for discussing current events from a Catholic perspective. We also hear from John, who emphasizes the importance of hearing Catholic leaders like Patrick Madrid on pressing issues and the need to keep an open mind. Patrick responds by stating the significance of dealing with reality beyond just biblical and doctrinal issues. He then engages in a conversation with callers on topics such as spiritual communion, the Pope's stance on homosexuality, and the motivations behind the recent conflict between Hamas and Israel. John - If the leaders of the Church won't guide us on political issues, like Hamas, then will they guide us on moral issues? I think we need strong leadership around what happened in Israel. Isabel - Does everyone go to purgatory, even if they are not Catholic? (04:08) Leticia - Does the Pope support or even endorse a gay lifestyle? Michael - What is the origin for the concept of spiritual communion? Nicole (12-years-old) - Is the war happening because of the attack from Hamas or because of how Israel treated the Palestinians? Sal - In Thessalonians, Paul talks about people who died sleeping; is he referencing them being in purgatory? Janelle - I inherited a Rosary with two crosses on it. What does that mean? Antonio - I am looking at high schools for my daughter who is in 7th grade. How should I approach Catholic Schools that have a diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policy? (28:32) Jay - What is the difference between purgatory and hell? When you reach heaven, can you be tempted and fall away? Chris - I am floating between Catholic and Protestant churches. I really like my Catholic faith but am more drawn to protestant community. What should I do? (44:00)
