Beware of the Stans (Rihanna's Shooter Suspect Update)

In this episode of The Latest with Loren LoRosa, Loren checks in from behind the scenes as she prepares to travel to South by Southwest and the HBCU Battle of the Bands in Charlotte. Even with a packed schedule, the show must go on—and there’s a lot happening in entertainment and culture right now.

First, Loren breaks down disturbing new developments in the case involving a woman accused of shooting at Rihanna’s Los Angeles home. Police audio from the arrest has been released, and more details are emerging about the suspect’s mental health struggles and social media posts targeting multiple celebrities. The incident raises serious questions about celebrity safety, fan culture, and access to firearms.

Loren also reflects on how moments like this change the way we look at celebrity interactions with fans and the media, referencing past moments involving stars like Justin Bieber.

Then the conversation shifts to the Academy Awards race, where Michael B. Jordan and Timothée Chalamet are both in the spotlight for Best Actor. Loren explains why Oscar predictions are leaning toward Michael B. Jordan—and how comments Chalamet made about theater and ballet have sparked backlash among some voters.
