The Leafs Finally Do It! w/ James Mirtle + Jackie Redmond

What a weekend for Leafs fans! JD Bunkis is in a great mood this Monday morning after a wild weekend of NHL action and the cards falling into place for the Maple Leafs - moving on to second round while avoiding the Bruins! (00:01) JD welcomes on The Athletic’s James Mirtle to break down how the Leafs managed to break their 19 year curse over the weekend, the key players who stepped up, and Toronto's case to come out of the Eastern Conference. On a bit of a hot streak, JD closes the first hour with his best bets, sponsored by Betano (46:07). In the podcast-only portion of the show, the guys discuss if Toronto fans should make the trip down to Florida to cheer on the Leafs or pony up to do it here in Toronto. NHL Network’s Jackie Redmond, fresh off a plane, checks in to talk about the crazy first round of the NHL playoffs and what Saturday's win meant to her being a longtime Leafs fan. JD and the crew wrap things up with some rapid fire through what we missed including Steph Curry's masterpiece, the NBA playoffs, and going to a Taylor Swift concert (50:14).
