Dr. Cedric Dark is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and serves on the Boards of Doctors for America and Semester at Sea. However, the increasing risks and impact of gun violence has expanded his calling, to do more than just teach and help patients at his practice. Through his policy work, which includes roles with the U.S. House of Representatives, Kaiser Family Foundation, and the Joe Biden Campaign, Dr. Dark is a leading voice in America’s plight to stop gun violence. His book, “Under The Gun”, serves as a guide to connect his audience with a wider-lens race, equity, and lawmakers. Gun violence has become the leading cause of death of children and has decreased the lifespan of American adults by 2.5 years.
