Beyond the Alamo: The Ghosts of San Antonio, Part Two | Guest Lauren Swartz

This is Part Two of our conversation.

The Alamo may be San Antonio’s most famous piece of history, but the streets surrounding it have witnessed generations of life, death, tragedy, and change—and some believe not everyone who became part of that history ever left.

Lauren Swartz was born and raised in San Antonio, and her love of its history and the paranormal led her and her husband, James, to create Sisters Grimm Ghost Tours, which combine documented history with ghostly experiences still being reported today.

There’s the legendary Menger Hotel, with stories of Sallie White, Captain Richard King, and even Teddy Roosevelt; the spirits of the historic City Cemetery No. 1; the old Bexar County Jail, where executions once took place inside the building; and the Emily Morgan Hotel, a former medical building with its own long list of unexplained encounters.

From famous figures to forgotten prisoners—and the spirits that may still be checking into their favorite hotel—San Antonio has plenty of ghost stories beyond the Alamo.

Today on The Grave Talks, Beyond the Alamo: The Ghosts of San Antonio , with Lauren Swartz of Sisters Grimm Ghost Tours.
