XRPL Commons hosts a 36-hour AI and Fintech hackathon on the XRP Ledger in New York on October 24 and 25, with more than 400 builders registered and more than $40,000 in prizes. Four tracks run: Lending & Borrowing, Agentic Finance, Protocol Innovation and an open "Why Not" lane. The Lending & Borrowing track builds on XLS-66 and XLS-65, two proposed amendments that would add lending, credit and yield to the ledger itself. Tokenized real-world assets have reached about $46 billion on public chains, yet only 7% to 12% of them are used in DeFi. The XRP Ledger took in $3.6 billion of new tokenized assets in 2026 and RLUSD has grown 86% to about $2.5 billion. Ripple, the XRPL Foundation, Mastercard, Ledger, AWS and QuickNode back the event, which falls the weekend before Swell 2026 on October 27 to 29.
