Check Point’s AI Network Firewall, released in late July, adds AI security to firewalls enterprises already run, with no new hardware or console. It covers three attack surfaces: shadow AI use by employees, autonomous agents and MCP traffic, plus the models and apps themselves, which it protects with Lakera’s prompt-injection defense. The approach matches a wider trend. Zscaler folded its AI features into its existing platform in June, while Cloudflare keeps AI Gateway as a standalone product. IBM found shadow AI incidents hit 43% of breached organizations, up from 20% a year earlier, with the average shadow AI breach costing $5.39 million. Analysts cannot agree on the market’s size, with estimates ranging from about $30 million to $260 million for 2026.
