Don’t Panic Yet: Dolphins Rookies SHINE Before Huge 49ers Test | Fish Tank LIVE

From The Fish Tank: Miami Dolphins Tales From The Deep O.J. McDuffie and Seth Levit

The Miami Dolphins may have left Las Vegas with a loss, but Week 1 gave us our first real look at what this young team could become.

And despite the final score… there were flashes. Jacob Rodriguez looked comfortable in the middle of the defense. Caleb Douglas continued to make his case. Miami’s young players stepped up in big moments, and Malik Willis showed enough athleticism, toughness and arm talent to make the conversation around his future a LOT more interesting. But this is still a rebuild — and there were plenty of reminders. The pass rush disappeared. The offensive and defensive lines struggled. And Miami’s special teams were anything BUT special, nearly surrendering multiple huge returns and repeatedly putting the Dolphins in terrible situations. So what happens now?

The Dolphins stayed out West, headed to Napa and now prepare for an even tougher Week 2 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. On this episode of Fish Tank LIVE, O.J. McDuffie, Seth Levit, The Legendary Sevach, Mike Oliva and Sun Sentinel columnist Chris Perkins break down:

•What we actually learned from the Week 1 loss to the Raiders

•The impressive debut of Miami’s rookie class

•What Malik Willis showed — and where he still needs to grow

•The Dolphins’ alarming special-teams problems

•Jacob Rodriguez’s impressive first NFL game

•Caleb Douglas and Miami’s young playmakers

•What a REAL NFL rebuild actually looks like

•What improvement should look like from Week 1 to Week 2

•And whether this young Dolphins team can hang with the San Francisco 49ers

This season was never going to be a finished product in September. Week 1 was the baseline. Now we find out whether Miami can start stacking bricks. The bond don’t break.
