Leafs First Trip to Florida + Verhoeff vs. McKenna

Ben Ennis and Brent Gunning open the second hour by previewing tonight's Maple Leafs vs. Panthers game. They get into Brad Marchand’s rapport with the Toronto media and examine whether the Leafs may have missed their contention window amid Florida’s mounting injuries. They discuss Auston Matthews’ evolution, the importance of key players going forward, and whether the Leafs’ health-science approach or simple injury-proneness is contributing to their lineup issues. After the break, Sportsnet NHL analyst Jason Bukala (27:00) joins to share his observations on the Leafs’ current play, other teams’ adjustments, Matthews’ development, and any changes in Toronto’s defensive-zone coverage. He also weighs in on Team Canada’s Olympic goaltending picture and breaks down his latest draft rankings, where Keaton Verhoeff sits ahead of Gavin McKenna, and what their NCAA seasons and the upcoming World Juniors could indicate.
