Canada-USA Gold Medal Game Preview with Ailish Forfar

Ben Ennis and Brent Gunning kick off this hour by welcoming Ailish Forfar live from Milan! They discuss Canada’s quarterfinal win over Czechia and the challenges faced early in the elimination round, before looking ahead to the women’s hockey gold medal game between United States and Canada. The conversation covers key storylines from their first matchup, areas Canada must improve, players to watch, and the importance of goaltending, along with a broader look at the rise of U.S. women’s hockey and Canada’s Olympic future. After the break (23:28), the hosts share updates from Canada’s practice and optional skate ahead of the men's semifinal against Finland. They also react to postgame comments surrounding Mitch Marner and discuss how his international performance impacts his reputation in Toronto and across the league. Ben and Brent wrap up by asking: who would have taken the blame had Canada fallen short?
