Stars Align as Dallas Acquires Rantanen

Matt Marchese and Mike Futa open with some breaking news of Andrei Kuzmenko's trade from Philadelphia to the Kings, before being joined in-studio by Sportsnet's Kevin Bieksa (1:52)! They dive into the Mikko Rantanen saga as Kevin shares what it's like being stuck in trade rumour limbo. The guys then share a report from Elliotte Friedman as details of the Dylan Cozens-Josh Norris trade are finalized. They also carve out some time to discuss Matthew Knies' debut dropping the gloves and what's in store for the Jets ahead of the deadline. At long last, the guys react to Rantanen's reported trade to Dallas with an 8-year, $12 million AAV extension being finalized. Paul Bissonnette (30:33), Spittin' Chiclets host and noted good guy for picking up the cheque, joins the program as news breaks of Luke Schenn being traded to Winnipeg. The trio sift through and react to all of today's news, before two new deals enter the fray: Scott Laughton to the Maple Leafs and Brandon Tanev to the Jets.
