Mid-Season Award Winners w/ Anna Dua + Steve Spott

Matt Marchese and Mike Futa are joined by Sportsnet's Anna Dua to kick off the show as they round out their mid-season award winners, including Connor Hellebuyck as the consensus top candidate for the Vezina Trophy, the case for Kirill Kaprizov for the Hart, and Quinn Hughes' team impact rising his stock in the Norris competition. Next, the crew offer thoughts on whether the NHL's playoff seeding should revert back to a more traditional format, and run through news and notes from last night's matchups around the league (41:28). After, former NHL winger Colby Armstrong (49:50) weighs in on the teams hovering around the wild card spots in the Eastern Conference, including the Pittsburgh Penguins’ placement of goalie Tristan Jarry on waivers, the Detroit Red Wings’ new coach bump, Ottawa’s recent stretch of strong goaltending, and whether Bruins’ captain Brad Marchand will ever put on another jersey in his career. Finally, Dallas Stars assistant coach Steve Spott (1:18:14) discusses the team’s big road victory over the Leafs Tuesday night, whether fatigue sets in for top-end players after multiple playoff runs, Joe Pavelski's leadership, and his days as a locker room prankster.
