Judge Delays Decision on Tyler Robinson Trial Schedule (10/26/26)
Tyler Robinson’s latest court hearing ended without a trial date after Judge Tony Graf Jr. said he needed more time to weigh competing schedules and the enormous amount of preparation expected in the capital murder case. Prosecutors said they would prefer a January 31, 2028 start but could be ready as early as October 2027, while Robinson’s defense asked the court to treat the third quarter of 2029 as a “soft target,” citing the volume of discovery, extensive trial preparation and scheduling conflicts with other cases being handled by members of the defense team. One of those conflicts involves defense attorney Richard Novak, who is scheduled to begin a federal racketeering trial in January 2028. Graf expressed concern that continuing to leave the case without a firm date could create even more conflicts, but stopped short of setting one and scheduled another hearing for November 9, when he said he would issue his ruling. The sharpest moment came from Jeffrey Neiman, the attorney representing Erika Kirk, who urged Graf to move the case forward and argued that the Kirk family’s constitutional right to a reasonably speedy resolution should carry significant weight. Neiman warned that “time is the defense’s best ally” and argued that allowing the case to drift toward 2029 would amount to justice being delayed for Kirk’s widow and family. He even suggested the family would contact the federal judge overseeing Novak’s conflicting case and ask that it be moved if necessary. Novak pushed back, telling the court that forcing the case to trial too quickly would increase the likelihood of mistakes and undermine the finality everyone claims to want. The result was a clear collision between the defense’s demand for enough time to prepare a death-penalty case and the Kirk family’s increasingly forceful argument that years of additional delay would be unacceptable. to contact me: [email protected] source: Tyler Robinson still has no trial date in Charlie Kirk murder case | Fox News Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.
