Once known as one of New Zealand’s most gifted footballers, Michael’s career took him around the world, including nearly a decade playing professionally in South Africa. But behind the success was chaos: alcoholism, a near-fatal car crash that left him with a broken neck, and later, a heart attack that left him clinically dead for 29 minutes.
