What the Josh Allen Contract Means for Baker + Training Camp News and Listener Mailbag | The Dawgs - A Cleveland Browns Podcast - August 7, 2021

What's up, Browns fans! Josh Allen just got a BAG of money, so the quarterback contract race is on. Who will be next, Lamar Jackson, Baker Mayfield, or Josh Rosen? All kidding aside, we break down what the Buffalo Bills' QB's new pricetag could mean for the Browns and Baker Mayfield. We have another week of training camp news and notes to dissect. Not to mention the football season has officially begun with the Hall of Fame game on Thursday night. The Squeelers played, so there wasn't much to see, but it was great to have actual football (kind of) nonetheless. We talk about some of the key players standing out at camp right now. One is a guy we've been high on all offseason. The other is a guy we called a cut candidate only a few weeks ago. And finally, we dive into some listener mailbag voicemails and social media comments. One question we consider is whether or not we should beware the hype after what happened in 2019. Browns Nation was beyond excited for Baker's sophomore season, but then Freddie Kitchens came in and tried to make Hue Jackson look good. How is this season's hype different than in 2019? ▬ Contents of this video ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 0:00 - Intro 3:51 - SimBull: Play the sports stock market with us this season! 9:18 - Josh Allen's big new contract 17:55 - Donovan Peoples-Jones balling out in camp 25:32 - Mack Wilson stepping up in camp 29:55 - Offense vs defense in camp 32:34 - Anthony Walker injury scare 34:14 - 2019 hype vs 2021 hype 37:25 - Any news about Richard LeCounte III? 42:22 - Nick Chubb stats to prove he's the best RB 45:14 - Can you chalk up some of Baker's bad throws in camp to situational drills? 51:50 - Dawgs After Hours preview Head over to our NEW website at https://www.thedawgspodcast.com/ (https://www.thedawgspodcast.com) and send us a voicemail with your thoughts or record an intro for an upcoming episode.
