Who Chooses Our Salvation?

Who Chooses Our Salvation?

Who hardens our hearts toward God—us or God? And can someone become so hardened that it's too late for them to believe?

In John 12:37–50, we encounter one of the most difficult questions in the Bible: Scripture says that God hardened people's hearts, yet it also holds people responsible for their refusal to believe. How do we understand both truths? In this episode of The Caffeinated Christian, Pastor Mike works through Jesus' words in John 12 and the story of Pharaoh in Exodus to explore God's sovereignty, human responsibility, spiritual resistance, and the danger of repeatedly saying no to God. We'll explore:

Why people reject Jesus despite seeing the evidence

What the Bible means when it says God hardens hearts

Whether Pharaoh hardened his own heart or God hardened it

Whether there is a point of no return spiritually

Whether God can soften a hardened heart

Why some people believe in Jesus but are afraid to confess Him publicly

What it means to respond faithfully to the truth God has revealed

The question isn't merely why other people refuse to believe It's also what we're doing with the truth God has already entrusted to us. Join the conversation: Do you think Christians adequately understand the relationship between God's sovereignty and human responsibility?
