The Authority You Already Have and Do Not Use

Eleven men stood on a hill in Galilee, and Matthew says plainly that some of them doubted. Jesus handed them the whole commission anyway, without resolving it first. This is the last episode of The Spiritual Warfare Practical, and it lands where the first episode promised: Matthew 28:18 and the word "given." A completed transfer, which means the authority was somewhere else before, and three prior episodes explain exactly where. Also in this one: why Jesus chose Caesarea Philippi, at the foot of Mount Hermon, for the conversation where he names the church and hands over the keys, and what that geography does and does not prove. A correction to binding and loosing that reverses the direction most people are taught, based on a Greek construction that means "shall have been bound." The threefold scope of Philippians 2. Why the same name worked for Peter and failed badly for the sons of Sceva. And Revelation 12:11 as the operating manual, including the clause that rules out the triumphalist reading, since the overcomers in that verse overcome by dying. Episode 4 of 4 in The Spiritual Warfare Practical.
