How to Test Every Revelation Against Scripture | Sunday Seeds

Are you really hearing the Holy Spirit, or are you mistaking your own convictions for God's voice? In this episode of Sunday Seeds, we're confronting one of the most uncomfortable questions in the Christian life: How do we know when a spiritual leading actually comes from God? 1 John 4:1 commands believers to test the spirits. But are we actually doing that? Or have we started treating our dreams, feelings, personal revelations, and theological convictions as things that cannot be questioned? We're going into 1 Kings 13, where a man of God received a genuine command from the Lord, stood against a king, witnessed a miracle, and still lost his life because he accepted another prophet's claim without testing it. We'll examine what Jesus taught about the Holy Spirit, why the Bereans were praised for examining Paul's teaching, and what Scripture says about false prophets, supernatural signs, and spiritual deception. And I'm going to turn that same examination on myself, including my decision to step away from cryptid field research following dreams, answered prayers, and a personal experience. **IN THIS EPISODE:** - Are we following the Holy Spirit or our own convictions? - What the Holy Spirit actually does according to John 16 - Six biblical tests for spiritual claims and revelations - Why genuine supernatural experiences can still be misinterpreted - The Bereans, false prophets, and the man of God in 1 Kings 13 - Testing my own decision to leave cryptid field research - Why spiritual discernment requires humility and accountability - What early Christian writings teach us about prophecy and deception - How to recognize when a conviction has become exempt from Scripture **KEY SCRIPTURES:** 1 John 4:1 | 1 Kings 13 | John 16:13–14 | Acts 17:11 | Deuteronomy 13:1–3 | Galatians 1:8 | 1 Thessalonians 5:19–22 | 2 Corinthians 13:5 **THE KINGDOM FIELD MANUAL** Explore the Deuteronomy Filter, a practical four-question biblical framework for examining spiritual claims, prophecies, dreams, and teachings. https://broadcastingseeds.com **SUPPORT BROADCASTING SEEDS** Join our Patreon community for ad-free episodes and exclusive content. https://www.patreon.com/ **JOIN THE CONVERSATION** Have you ever been convinced the Holy Spirit was leading you, only to discover through Scripture that you needed to reconsider?
