FC Camisa Book Club: Brian Reade, 'The Kop: A Fan's History of Football's Most Famous Stand.'

Liverpool's Kop helped change football culture forever. But is modern football threatening the very fans who made it famous?

In the first episode of FC Camisa Football Book Club, Dotun Adebayo is joined by award-winning journalist and lifelong Liverpool supporter Brian Reade, author of The Kop: A Fan's History of Football's Most Famous Stand.

As the Kop celebrates its 120th anniversary, Brian looks back at the extraordinary story of Anfield's most famous stand, from its origins in South Africa to the birth of football terrace singing and the rise of You'll Never Walk Alone.

They explore how Bill Shankly built a unique relationship with Liverpool supporters, how fans fought back against the club's owners, and why the Kop played such a powerful role in unforgettable European nights against Chelsea and Barcelona.

Brian also reflects on Hillsborough and the fight for justice, the changing relationship between Liverpool and Everton supporters, rising ticket prices, and whether younger generations are losing access to the terraces.

Plus, what really makes the Kop special, and why couldn't Liverpool stop Manchester City at Anfield?
