Making a mistake isn’t the end of the world (even if it really feels like it.) A lot of children are conditioned to fear “messing up” and those children turn into perfectionist adults. Sure, perfectionism might take you “far” places, but at some point, that same perfectionism is going to stifle your creativity and keep you stuck in the same places. If you want to go even farther, you have to learn to embrace your mistakes and give yourself grace when you’re wrong or you’ve messed up. You’re tougher than you know, and even if you are wrong sometimes, everything is going to be just fine.
