The Park Avenue Shooting

"Why do they always include the middle name when someone does something terrible?"That’s the question that kicks off this gripping and emotionally charged episode of The Ben and Skin Show, where hosts Ben Rogers, Jeff “Skin” Wade, Kevin “KT” Turner, and Krystina Ray dive headfirst into one of the most shocking stories of the week: a tragic shooting at 345 Park Avenue—home to the NFL offices.Skin shares a surreal moment from his recent trip to New York, revealing he was just blocks away from the chaos. The team unpacks the disturbing details surrounding Shane Devon Tamura, a 27-year-old Nevada man with a history of mental illness who claimed in a note that his struggles were linked to CTE from playing football. The conversation turns raw and reflective as the crew discusses the implications of mental health, football’s long-term effects, and the haunting legacy of players like Junior Seau. But it wouldn’t be The Ben and Skin Show without some levity. From KT’s hilarious reaction to his middle name being exposed—“Is your middle name Ryan?” “Yeah.” “Oh no. You don’t say that. I’ll dump it!”—to Skin’s deadpan delivery of “Not like a lady from olden times daylight,” the episode is packed with laugh-out-loud moments that balance the heavy with the hilarious.
